Ultimate Pools was founded in 1991 by Steve Jowers when his lifelong vision of establishing a pool construction, renovation and technician business focused on complete customer satisfaction came to life. Throughout the years, Steve has built a reputable family-owned and operated pool business through hard work and dedication.
Travis Jowers has had his hand in the pool and spa business since a young age, shadowing his father Steve and helping out where he could whenever he could. He began working for Ultimate Pools on a regular basis, however, during his summers off school. After graduating from Virginia Tech, Travis made the decision to become a full-time employee.
Our service technicians are specially trained on particular equipment such as saline generators, heaters, filtration systems, and more. They can repair any issue that may arise. Highly recommended. During the busy season in mid-June, I have called several companies with good reviews to open the pool for us, but they either have no immediate availability or simply didn't return my calls. Tammy from Ultimate Pools returned my call within an hour and scheduled someone to open for us in the following week. One of the two guys came out was very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of good recommendations. We were satisfied with overall experience. Definitely will use them again.

We LOVE our Ultimate Pool. We selected Ultimate Pools for our pool installation and maintenance based on multiple recommendations from friends, our landscape designer and other construction professionals. The pool was part of a large scale backyard project including patio & landscape work. The team at Ultimate Pools went above and beyond coordinating with the other trade professionals working on our project and they were the only company that didn't cause any delays on the project! We LOVE our Ultimate Pool. Owner Steve & every member of the installation team were hard working, experienced, knowledgeable professionals from start to finish. My husband and I requested estimates from 6 pool installation companies and choose Ultimate Pools based on numerous recommendations from friends, our landscape designer, and Richmond area construction professionals.

We have had two houses in Richmond with pools/spas. And, we have used Jo-Pa, Integrity, and Ultimate Pools over the years. Without a doubt, ULTIMATE POOLS IS THE BEST! I got their name from one of Richmond's top landscape designers...because I figured her clients had gardens designed around pools and she would know the inside story. She did, and although she didn't have a negative word to say about anyone else, her thoughts on Ultimate Pools were that they were the best in the area.
My experience has proven that to be true. I had Jo-Pa come out to price replacing my heater and they told me that it would have to be plumbed for gas and that it would be $3000 up. When I told Ultimate that, they were very kind... and showed me the gas line that was already going to the heater! What?!! How could JoPa have missed that? And guess what... the replacement heater came in around $2000.
That is a HUGE difference. I am a big fan of Travis Jowers and family... and they earned every bit of my admiration! (Plus they return phone calls and emails promptly. That's unusual in 2019!!)

I am not able to even rate this company at all, but had to give it a one to post at all. Their customer service is extremely poor, emails are never replied to nor are phone calls returned. The actual work is also not done to the standard I would expect paying the money we did. Spend your money elsewhere! I strongly do not recommend this company.
