I'm going to review San Diego pools again with a 5 star! I had my pool for 2 years and I had an issue with my coping. SD pools was fast and efficient. It took them about 5 days to replace the coping and take all the old coping away too. Sometimes you just hear how the project went from start to finish but I'm a HAPPY customer and I'm so glad that I choose SD pools.

You want a reliable pool company and I choose them for being in the business for 40 years! I have to thank SD Pool team Katie, Enrique, Josh, Rafa, Miguel, and Tim from Rock and Block for getting this job done!

With consideration we started our project during Covid, we could not be happier with our new pool. We had a calamity of events but with the San Diego Pool professionals, we got through them all. Having to move the project from the back yard to the front yard, hitting solid granite, supply shortage and labor shortage, quality never faltered. Our sells person (Dan) did not over sell but made suggestions that he thought we may enjoy, especially with this being our first pool and being seniors.

We have lights, fountains, and a must have for us, solar heating. Everyone that came onto the property was respectful and professional. Can't complain about customer service either. For all the little nuances during and after the build they were rectified within a week. I had the pleasure of meeting the President of San Diego Pools and he made the mistake of telling me to call him if I had a problem. He is amazing, helped me often true to his word. Everyone who comes by, love our pool, we love our pool. Thank you to the team at San Diego Pools!

I had my pool built on late 2018. We were originally going to upgrade to a house with a pool. but decided to stay and have one built instead. I Paid what I thought was fair for good work. Now the spa stone has fallen. Josh was contacted and said that they're not responsible for this as the pool warranty has expired. The original warranty term was 3yrs.

He also said that the pool service technicians chemicals have caused this issue. Also that the water has "high metal content". After making further investigating it was determined that the stone and thin set never adhered to the concrete. It is a clear workmanship issue that they should take care of even if it's 3 months over the expiration. It's clear that they're doing the job using the lowest grade materials and workmanship just barely enough to cover them for the warranty period.

I asked Josh if It was normal to do this type of repair so soon after the build? His response was vague and misleading, blaming the pool service guy and the water. He offered to make calls to see if someone would could help with the repair but that i would have to be pay it. I TRULLY don't trust ANY of their them anymore or any of their workers anymore. Paying high construction costs a few years ago on something that I shouldn't see in at least 10year old pool in my opinion. Every time I come to my house and look out back just breaks my heart to see my hard earned money crumbled. Thank very much San Diego Pools!

I am very disappointed with San Diego pools. The exterior stone of my jacuzzi fell apart 3 years after installation! San Diego Pools took no responsibility for the quality of their product and instead blamed my pool guy that he must be using the wrong cleaning materials which caused the stone to fall. My pool guy does this for a living and has never had issues with other customers so it's not the pool guy!

We did our dual diligence in selecting the right pool company, paid top dollar and this is what we get! Poor quality and poor service! Here I am paying close to $6000 to fix what San Diego Pools did wrong. Very disappointed customer.

When looking for a pool company, we needed someone with experience for our challenging project. Our yard is an odd triangle shape, and on top of it our home is located on 2 easements, owned by SDGE for utilities, and the city for a drainage easement. We didn't think it would happen, but decided to go for our dream pool anyways. To our surprise, San Diego pools was able to get us permits and the project approved! Katie kept us informed weekly the entire permitting process which we waited anxiously for.

We appreciate Katie's quick responses as well to any of our questions. Once we had permits, Enrique was assigned as our project manager, and an appt was set up to go over the construction process. Everything was explained in that first meeting as far as the process and expectations. I also on my own curiosity watched many youtube videos so I was 100% educated on the pool building process.

We broke ground a few weeks later, so excited to get this show on the road. What we discovered right off the bat was there is an abandoned drain underground on our property to everyone's surprise, including the city! Long story short, Enrique was able to speak with the city to handle the whole situation, AND get us a permanent permit for our pool to encroach onto their easement forever. AMAZING!

All the contractors that came to our home for each milestone were very polite, courteous, and professional. I just have to mention as well that on Christmas Eve, we had some flooding overnight due to heavy rain, and text Enrique early in the morning if he could please send help if possible. The San Diego pool guys came over within an hour, in the morning, in pouring rain, on Christmas Eve!

They set up drains, and sandbags, and were able to get everything cleaned up for us! Enrique took such good care of us the whole way. Now that our pool is filled and completed, Grady has been our service technician helping set everything up and teaching us how to use the equipment. You guys, this company is good people! Everyone genuinely cares and listens if you have concerns.

The pool building process can be stressful And pools are in high demand right now so remember to be patient. There's a supply shortage, worker shortage, and Covid. You will go through months where your yard looks like a bomb went off, and may feel like no end in sight, but now that is all said and done, I can honestly say that we had a great experience, and were well taken care of by everyone we dealt with at San Diego pools.

We would definitely do it all over again! We are so happy with our dream pool and completely in awe of how it has transformed our yard and our lives Thank you so much to San Diego Pools!

Let me start by saying this. DON'T waste your money and time with this company. They are all talk and very little action. We started a pool project in August of 2021 and to this date the pool is not complete. They told us the pool would be complete by December 2021! Here we are in March (2022) and there's still no end to the project; excuse after excuse and they blame everything on COVID.

We understand that the pandemic has affected the entire world, but this is ridiculous! There have been weeks when no one shows up to work on site at all and when they do show up they work for 1-2 hours! It's clear why there is no progress. There is no integrity or work ethic with this company and communication is scarce unless they need more money then they're on it!

I eventually reached out to John the President of the company; there was a glimpse of hope and it seemed that we were making some progress but unfortunately that was just false promises. There has been no more follow up from Josh, the project is at a complete HALT, the tile is NOT done, coping is not done, here we are and no pool!. This is our first pool and the communication from the company has been horrible, they act like we know the steps and process.

You would think that spending 100K would get you top quality but it doesn't. It was all talk for the beginning; our salesperson sold us with his incredible used car salesman techniques! We were so happy to be hiring such a reputable company, boy were we wrong. If you look at the YELP reviews you'll quickly see how this company is going down quickly, they continue to let their customers down and continue to make a name (not a good one) for themselves. PLEASE do yourself a favor DON'T HIRE this company unless you want, false promises, mediocre service, no work ethic, lack of follow up, no communication and a bunch of lazy ass people full of nothing but excuses! Take your money elsewhere.

Where do I begin. this has been the WORST experience I have ever had with a contractor, and the job is not even done yet. We have a standard pool, spending approximately 65k. Contract says 90 days to complete pool, we are going on the 8th month with the end of pool completion at least a month or so away. The whole job has been 1 step forward 2 steps back.

No pride, accountability in the work from supervisors to the employees. (Except the masonry, they did a great job, but they were subcontracted) I've had to call the supervisor multiple times and explain to him that the work he's doing is unacceptable. Digging was great (also subcontracted), once that was done limited work was done for months at a time. Workers would come in one or two days a week for 2-3 hours tops!

A span of 2-3 weeks went by with no workers around. When we asked the supervisor he said he would have somebody come out the next day.did the person show up? I'm sure you know the answer, but I will give you a hint, starts with a N and ends with an O. This has been a complete disaster. I'be tried to give grace and patience to San Diego Pools, but I feel taken advantage of and that they do not care one bit.

It finally came to a head when we decided to finish the rest of the backyard with or without San Diego Pools completion. We let them know that we didn't care if they weren't done or not. Guess what? They came out the next day to finish work we waited months for. There is so much more to this review that this paragraph does not do it justice! It's hard to describe all the built up frustration in a single segment.

If you are reading this, please feel free to message me and ask any question you want about our pool installation process. I would feel extremely bad if somebody went through the same thing we are experiencing. A lot of these bad reviews have been accurate of what we are/have experienced. I hope this helps!

We initially had a great experience with Red who came out to our property for an initial survey and then provided us with draft of his ideas for our pool/spa and was very flexible and responsive with any changes we requested. We signed the contract and then waited for several months before hearing back before actually starting the project (contract signed in May 2020, work started in May 2021). Enrique ended up being our project manager.

We encountered several hiccups along the way (some of which we were warned about beforehand), and spent some very frustrating weeks waiting for anyone to show up to continue the work, although Enrique was reasonably responsive during these periods. We had a 90 day guarantee for completion of the project, but we preferred to have things done right and put up with a construction delay of over two months.

The real headache started once the pool construction was actually finished. We received minimal if any information on how to actually operate our pool. Grady was completely useless and oftentimes didn't show up for scheduled appointments because of illness (that we never ever were told about ahead of times). We ended up hiring a pool maintenance company who did a reasonable job explaining things. However, to this day (3 months after completion of construction), I've been waiting to hear back from Enrique about the severe blotchiness of the plaster in our pool and spa (see attached pictures).

I was promised back in late October 2021 that someone would come out to assess the plaster, but we then got ghosted by both Enrique and Grady with any subsequent enquiries and requests about this issue. We do not at all recommend San Diego Pools at all, and regret not having pursued offers by Majestic or Prestige Pools that were recommended to us previously and gave us price quotes that were below those of San Diego Pools.

We were looking to build a pool in our newly purchased house. We were referred to Josh Lawson by several friends who had done pools with him and SD Pools. We also met with 3 other companies. Josh's design, attention to detail, and accommodations of all of our changes, combined with the pricing, led us to choose them. We then had the pleasure of working with Corey Greenwood, who was the Project Manager of our pool.

He was always so informative, helpful, patient and calm, even when a few geological obstacles arose. He always knew what to say when we had questions or concerns. We couldn't be happier with the product they built for us. We are so thankful for those guys, all the guys that built it, and to Grady, who is now our contact with them, as they are always available to help solve any issues or just to answer questions. If you are looking to build a pool, call them. Don't take my word for it, just meet with them. You will see what I am talking about.

We started our quote and subsequent pool purchase in the fall of 2020. With Covid, the process was painful at times and took much longer than we anticipated. But in the end, we have a beautiful pool to show for it. Grady, our service technician, was great. He was there at the end of pool completion to install our equipment and service our pool, making sure it was up and running.

He explained how all of the equipment works and was very responsive with questions we had. We had a few hiccups along the way with the equipment, but Grady was quick to address and fix problems. Thanks Grady for your fantastic customer service!

For starters I am only rating two people on this review. I am not rating the overall experience here. I want to give kudos to Ryan the plumber who was great at communicating and his work quality is top notch. So thanks Ryan I appreciate you. Now that the pool is done I want to give kudos to Grady as the service tech. He is very knowledgeable on start up of the pool and a great coach/trainer on how to maintain the pool.

He is friendly, a great communicator on when he will arrive and more importantly is responsive on answering my texts/calls to handle whatever situations I may encounter. Nice to know he is a call away. Thanks Grady and Ryan you are both 5 star worthy.

The guys are the best! SD pools representatives guided us through every step of the process. Everything from financing options, planning, pool options, maintenance were clearly presented. They even referred us to a landscaper and they were able seamlessly schedule everything so the pool and backyard all got done in a timely manner. Even to this day they check in and make sure the pool is maintaining well. I can't say enough about their service, I highly recommend SD Pools!

San Diego pools is amazing! They really go above and beyond. We had a few companies to choose from and are so happy we chose this family run company. Not only did we get some special gifts, they sent our neighbors a lovely eatable arrangement during construction. A special shout out to the Corey's and Tanner, they truly are experts in their field and respond back at a moments notice and are extremely reliable.

You can count on them to be there typically that day or the next. Also, the office staff is super helpful and willing to help answer any questions that you have. Our pool was built July 2018 and we still have a strong relationship with San Diego pools!

As we come to end with our project with San Diego pools I wanted to write a review on their service team. From day one of Grady coming out to install alarms to final walk through of all equipment, chemicals and operation of pentair app, Grady was amazing to work with. His knowledge is amazing and his patience with me asking so many question was very greatly appreciated.

I feel like I now have the tools and understanding of how to operate and maintain our pool all by myself. Thank you Grady for your awesome customer service and thank you San Diego Pools for our amazing pool. Cheers to many family memories thanks to you guys!

UPDATE: Hi Katie, I waited two+ years to post this review to give your company a fair shot. I originally wrote it during the construction process and then saved it as a draft. This project was supposed to be finished in December. It was not. It finally finished in April. Since the pool was completed- with all of the issues in the review. we have reached out multiple times in 2019 and 2020 to get that "final walkthrough and training" for the systems. Crickets.

No response. Most recently we contacted Corey in Service directly and whoever has his phone - in response to a very specific question - replied "he is no longer with the company." No offer of help. Not phone call to check-in. Nothing. The grout is cracking and chipping. The spa jets do not all flow at the same rate. The Pentair system is a nightmare.

We watch YouTube videos online to try and troubleshoot (videos created by pool companies that are offering help) and it rarely connects when we are away from home. The OPR levels are always reading as not right - and we have a pool guy that comes to the house and tries to help keep our pool clear. Your company cashed our checks and the poor customer experience that went south almost immediately after contracts were signed continues.

If this is incorrect, and you have concern for a customer, I expect to hear from someone OTHER than the project manager who was so awful for the construction job, that can actually help us and fix the coping and grout cracks. Someone that can give us the training that we should have received at the end of the project.

This company has given us the worst experience by any contractor we have hired. We would never recommend there services to anyone. From the sales all the way to the completed install there was mistake after mistake and still to this day have not completed contract and details that our pool needs and is required. Do not make the mistake we made you will regret it.

Grady Lawson (pool tech) helped us get started with our pool. He was very kind and always available for answering our questions via text. His live tutorials were very helpful and he was full of good advice. During the build there were COVID delays that were frustrating, but once we had water and Grady was our point of contact everything went smoothly. Great job Grady.

Tanner has been our service tech since we completed our pool a couple months ago. He's been very responsive, communicative, polite and professional. Any questions that we have - he comes out right away to assist. When servicing our pool, he always come to the door to let us know before going to our backyard and it's always sparkling clean. We love the weekly reports. He has an excellent work ethic and takes pride in his work. You'll be happy with any interaction that you have him.

Well, we signed our contract last September, the dig began in January and we were swimming the first of July (before the holiday!). We are thrilled with the end result, that is custom built and of high quality workmanship. Enrique was our project manager, and he managed the project from start to the finish line. No doubt the timeline went longer than anticipated, and we had some bumps along the way.

I have to say when we had concerns or questions, we got the answers we needed. When you consider the macro environment of material shortages, lack of qualified and skilled workforce for all construction projects, and the record demand for homeowners installing pools, San Diego Pools delivered a superior product, fulfilled their contractual commitments and were true professionals the entire process.

Best advice to any one looking for a pool, be patient, and stay with the top rated companies with a history of satisfying the customer. That is why we went with San Diego Pools, and Red was our initial contact and helped us design our end product. Our project had major changes to the initial strategy for the dig as you can see in the pictures with the entire side hill of our property excavated and then replaced, but yet San Diego Pools made it happen!

Tanner is always responsive with my questions. He communicates when he is on his way to the site and get the job done efficiently. He came at the house today and cleaned the pool while also trying to set up an appointment to do a tutorial on how to maintain the pool based on my availability. Definitely one helpful representative of SD Pools.

We are so appreciative of the San Diego pools team. Tommy takes great care of our beautiful pool by always being on-time, professional and responsive to all of our needs. He keeps it looking perfect! We had such a great experience with Corey, Josh and their team during the construction, and have nothing but great things to report. If you want a beautiful pool to enjoy for years to come, go with San Diego pools, they will not disappoint.

UPDATED REVIEW: This is our very first pool, and we are at the finish line. The pandemic created serious delays, but the SD pools team, especially Jason, Corey, Nathan, and the rest of the staff helped us have a pool that we are more than proud of. From concept to completion, the pool came to life! Our backyard went from dull to fantastic. The images aren't the finished product, but you can see how impressed we are with everything. SD Pools checked in on us regularly to guarantee our satisfaction. We're ready to swim!

Have loved working with San Diego pools from the beginning. The process and communication from Josh on sales and designs, Chad and team on the construction and Tommy who takes care of it and cleans it each week without fail, we couldn't be happier. They are always on time, very polite, communicative and allow my family and I to simply sit back and enjoy the pool! Highly recommend San Diego Pools.

Our pool will be finished soon and of course we are extremely excited! Even through the Covid 19 "challenging times" San Diego Pools has been on their game, keeping our project moving forward and responding to our questions right away. Our project manager, Enrique Acosta, provided the most ideal tile selections for us today. My husband doubted anyone in the history of pool building has ever done more research than me on finding the most perfect tile.

But my research came up short. Enrique somehow figured it out for me and surprised me today with AMAZING samples and now we have tiles, coping and pebble tech decisions made! If you go with San Diego Pools and you get Enrique as your project manager you will be in excellent hands! Also to be recognized is Josh Lawson, who came to our home to give us a bid for our project.

His enthusiasm is contagious and he created a pool plan that was everything we were hoping for and even more. We received 2 other bids from competitors and we were not nearly as drawn to either presenter or their proposals. Collectively we have had 2 previous pools and a pool care business, so we are probably a bit more detail oriented than most pool buyers (read hard to please). For us, San Diego Pools is checking all of the boxes and we can't wait to start enjoying our beautiful new pool!

We finished our pool 2 weeks before quarantine and it was the best thing that could have happened! From demo to maintenance and cleaning service, we loved everyone they sent out to our home. Josh and Corey were on top of the whole oversight, helping me make decisions, and kept everyone on the best schedule as possible (we had LOTS of rain) Tim and the demo crew were a hoot, and really busted everything out quickly.

The mastic guys did an exceptional job and really paid attention to detail. My favorite of the whole bunch was Tommy the pool cleaner. He did such a thorough job cleaning and is so friendly. After their complimentary service, I decided to do the maintenance myself and he made a special trip out here to teach me everything from the pumps, to the chemicals and cleaning the DE filter. 5 stars all around, you guys rocked!

Had our pool installed just over a year ago and we still love it now. We decided to go with them for our weekly cleaning and maintenance after how happy we were with the design and installation. Tommy T has been our guy from day one and he is still getting the job done right a year later. Always let's us know when he will be arriving and never misses a day of service. And the pool is still looking great to this day. Thank you Tommy and San Diego pools for keeping our system running great for me and my family to enjoy!

Can't say enough about SD Pools. From the beginning to the end of our project, we were impressed with the professionalism their team possessed. Although 2020 was not an ideal year to construct a pool, SD Pools went above and beyond to navigate through our city's red tape and make sure our project moved forward and completed. Fast forward to the completion of our project, we are still receiving exceptional service from their all inclusive pool service.

We have been blessed with the services of Tommy, which has been outstanding to say the least. Tommy, goes the extra mile to make sure our pool is running at it's very best. As a first time pool owner, I feel confident that any issues or questions I have, I can count on Tommy.

I absolutely love San Diego Pools! I worked with Enrique who is my project manager and son in law to the owner. Which he is reliable and cares about every pool project. He is awesome in multitasking I don't know how he does it with so many customers. My pool is finished I still have hardscape and artificial grass that I need to out in this month.

For now I will show you before and after pics. Cory, helped me with a question about my pool. He even came by my house to explain to me again about the pool. Even though I have a pool guy they have awesome customer service to comeback to your pool and help you out! If you are deciding on which pool company I would definetly recommend San Diego pools for Price, Efficiency, and Awesome Customer Service! I will definetly send more pics once my landscaping and turf is in!

My husband and I purchased a home last year with a pool that was built by San Diego Pools. The pool is great, but we have been having a slight issue with the pool float. We made a call to SD pools and they were able to come out right away. Tanner was extremely helpful and was able to resolve our issue same day which we greatly appreciate. We would highly recommend them for any pool servicing needs or new pool builds!
