We love our pool and outdoor space! When COVID hit and we were home all the time, we decided to put in a pool! We did not know it would take so long, but we are thrilled with the end result. JR and Dex were extremely easy to work with and built our perfectly designed space. Each person who came to work on the project was very professional and did a good job.

There were a lot of moving parts and some design changes along the way that delayed the project, but I know PBJC was doing their best. I am so glad we chose PBJC to complete the pool and outdoor space. It was easy to deal with one company for the entire project. They also facilitated our landscaping, which was wonderful. We use the area all the time! Wish we had done it sooner.

Our experience with Pools by John Clarkson has been nothing short of miserable. The blatant lack of communication, organization, and disregard for quality workmanship on our project is astounding. We broke ground in July 2021 and, while our contract is paid in full, our project is still not complete. Our pool doesn't even maintain its water level. PBJC likes to use phrases like "in the time of Covid, there are a lot of delays, " but our project never had a materials or equipment delay.

What we did have is a failure of PBJC to communicate, to follow up, and to check on the work they've done. We've asked twice for someone in charge to come and walk the project so we could discuss the issues. PBJC isn't interested. When the concrete crew was here, they flooded our neighbors' yard with concrete. It took over a month for someone to come remove the then-hardened concrete.

The paver crew built a13" step down from the pool deck to the yard. It sat for months as a safety hazard. The solution (only after we repeatedly pointed out the issue) was to lay cinder blocks down and glue on some pavers (the original step had stucco around the sides and the pavers on top were cut to make the overhang shorter). We have a fist-sized hole between the stucco retaining wall and the ground.

It's never been addressed. After the pavers settled, some needed to be pulled up and leveled. This is standard. What is not standard is cracking the pavers in the process of leveling them, and not replacing the cracked ones. No one has addressed the white patches we've pointed out in the plaster. The biggest issue of all is that we have a pool that leaks and needs more water every five days despite how many times they've come and "fixed it" in the last four months since our pool was filled. Phone calls haven't helped. Emails haven't helped. We are at a loss for how to have our pool fixed and completed.

Revising my review post construction. Pool Cleaning Service - I would give 5 stars. I like the reports that show you the condition of the pool and actions they performed weekly. Vanessa, the pool cleaning supervisor is amazing. We had issues over a long weekend when our previous pool cleaner resigned. Vanessa personally came out and got our pool back in great condition.

Pool Questions and Support - I would give 5 stars. The company has two Jim's that are both incredible. Anytime we see them they answer all questions and are both very knowledgeable. Annette has personally been a lifesaver for me. She reached out to me post our construction to ensure that we actually got a finished pool and touched based with me constantly.

Pool Construction - 3 stars - 4 to 5 stars for quality (pool tile and pool is great) plumbing (drain pipe an after thought) I don't think they give a lot of thought where to put things and this really should be communicated and documented for acceptance. - 1 star for cleanliness - someone needs to tell construction crews that they should not leave their drinks and fast food meals everywhere. Clients are not their parents to pick up after them.

I was constantly having to pick up their trash. - 1 star for communication (I will say that this may be b/c I had a poor project manager that did not like to communicate). Project managers need to have strong communication skills. - 2 star for sales After we signed it got very confusing and a lot of back and forth between sales and project manager.

I personally feel like the company misses the mark here. The sales guy should be out of the picture once you've signed. Having him involved adds an extra level of complexity and chances for things to get missed. Also, I wasn't thrilled with our sales person because he forgot things and never offered us design help. 1 - star for contract which was poor and unclear. Led to missing bubblers, almost the wrong depth (if my husband had not caught) and different colors.

I am happy with my pool today. It is absolutely beautiful. The construction process was painful but in the end I got a gorgeous quality pool. The biggest disappointment to me was that no manager ever called to apologize or even to talk to us. This company is fortunate to have some incredible people working for them Annette, Jim, Jim and Vanessa. However, they apparently don't have upper management that truly cares.

If they did they would have cared enough to reach out to me personally along my long painful journey. Previous write up Tons of garbage in my yard for 7 months (construction and food garbage that workers leave), had to withhold payment milestone to get it removed. No project management - I'm never updated people just show up or not. No manager ever cares enough to call even though I keep saying that I'm unhappy.

My project manager has now left the company. Paid initial deposit in October of 2020, pool started in February 2021 and it is now mid September and I have no idea when I will have a functioning pool. For $120k I expected a lot more. Previous write up. We are mid construction right now, trying to be positive and hoping that I can come back and rewrite this review.

Here is what I will say, I think they are building us a quality pool. The gentlemen (Mr. Ashton) who dug the pool, installed pipe and foundation did an incredible job. What I want to warn others about is to get every single thing in writing and make sure it is in your contract spelled out and make sure you understand the diagram (depths, markings, etc).

Contract Issues Contract said tier 1 or tier 2 but we were told that the tiers have changed and really what was tier 2 is now tier 1. Spots on diagrams confusion some think hey are umbrella holder vs. bubblers, etc. Pool depth our pool would have been the wrong depth if my husband didn't ask follow up questions. Sales Issues Things were not documented Never told that there are designers that can help (ended up getting help from Kaylee later which was helpful)

After 15 months of trying to have an inground pool installed and completed, I have experienced major delays, miscommunication, lack of information, billing errors, a leak!, and terrible customer service. Everyone you come in contact with at PBJC apologizes and acknowledges that all customers are frustrated by them, which I find completely unacceptable.

In my case, the wrong design specs and information was provided at the job site, so the crews, who had absolutely no onsite oversight, had the incorrect information for construction. They regularly knocked on our front door for our guidance, as no GC was present. The crews would lay in our driveway and just sleep throughout the day, which we had to address multiple times with the construction company, who simply made my husband & I feel like we were the burden and causing problems for them, when we would have simply expected some degree of oversight to handle our construction.

I know multiple people having pools installed now and they have asked me who I have used since I had such a terrible experience, so they did not contract with them. PBJC is known to be one of the most expensive pool contractors locally, explaining they will design a great product-- which they did. However, that has come with an exorbitant price tag, absolutely terrible service, major delays, inconceivable billing issues, and I am still dealing with them even after I am paid in full and construction + inspections are finalized.

I strongly urge against using this company, and wish someone had informed me of this a year and a half ago as well. I am flabbergasted that I continue to be disappointed by them 15 months into this project.

Great company! We signed our contract in October. In April we decided we wanted to make a change in the design. We were told it would cause a delay as it was already in permitting. The change was made and digging began in June. The pool was filled with water Thanksgiving weekend. We have a beautiful backyard oasis. Jeremy was responsive when contacted with questions.

The travertine crew ran by Eddie was incredibly respectful of our property. They were quick and cleaned up after themselves. Jim completed our pool school with us and installed a few pieces of equipment. He was always very friendly and helpful. Throughout the process we had several occasions in which we spoke to Debbie by phone and email. She was always pleasant and happy to help out anyway she could.

Hello, I would like to thank PBJC for completing my pool. The final product came out AMAZING. This is the first time I have ever own a pool so I didn't know what to expect and how the process worked. However, Covid did push the project time longer than I had expected, but the result looks beautiful. Next, I especially want to thank JR Rothman because he went above and beyond any salesperson I have every dealt with.

I'm giving him a 5 STAR plus rating! He was always there to answer my calls or questions. Also, JR was very personable, and cares very much to help elevate the problems and concerns I had with the pool. Nowadays that is hard to find in an individual. So, if you use PBJC for you next pool asks for JR. Lastly, one recommendation I have is when someone call the main number there should be people in place to answer the phone. You shouldn't have to leave a voice message and wait a long period of time for a call back.

Beware of PBJC. I wanted to wait until the project was finished, but couldn't keep waiting and wanted to warn others in a timely manner about shortcomings in service that have shaped my assessment. In short: -Communication is inexistent regarding when milestones will actually be completed. 'I don't know' may be an honest answer by the company, but unacceptable in project management. -Their phone constantly directs to voicemail.no matter what time of day a call is placed.

Sometimes calls are returned, though most times multiple calls and messages need to be left prior to getting a call back. -No verification that specific finishes can be applied to the material selections, resulting in the selected design finishes not being possible (up to this point no correction has been proposed for the mistake). -Subpar workmanship on paver and coping installation.

Time will tell if items get corrected as they claim they do.though we are 20 weeks into a 12 week project and review of the paver work did not result in rework (yet). According to PBJC, we are 'already at the point where things will move really fast'. That was 10 weeks ago. We have had a project manager on site weekly, which we appreciate, but I don't know that there is effective communication or optimization of resources and processes to actually get work completed in a timely manner.even considering the effects of the pandemic.

Rather than focus on delivering quality in product and service, PBJC seems more focused on digging out more pools weekly.leaving their customers unhappy and with a MASSIVELY DANGEROUS hole in their back yard for longer than is acceptable. Their product may be 'ok' in the end, but their service so far is subpar, and not worth the premium in costs.

I would love nothing more than for PBJC to make good on their sales pitch, deliver a good product, and give me a reasonable date (read: within 1-2 weeks) on when my project will be completed. Until then, look elsewhere.

We were familiar with the reputation of PBJC from constantly seeing their trucks in our old neighborhood and talking to people who chose them to build their pools. When we moved into our new house and wanted to build our dream backyard, we knew who we would hire. JR was our first point of contact, followed by Kaylee in design, and the plans and materials they came up with totally aligned with our vision of things to come. Eric and Dex took over from there, along with their incredible team members, all of whom were so professional and personable.

Any concerns we had along the way were handled right away, with our best interests in mind. We have heard that there is a waiting list now, but all we can say is that PBJC is well worth the wait! We are so happy we chose them and, honestly, we never considered any other builder. Thank you, PBJC, for bringing our dream to life!

Several months ago we met with Kyle Kempton for assistance in designing our backyard which included a pool, jacuzzi, stone work, outdoor kitchen with pergola and a two story screened in patio. Kyle was so pleasant to work with and extremely knowledgeable! He made suggestions while keeping in mind our design choices, budget, and even happily changed a few things in the days following. Kyle's designs were flawless, and the actual patio came out like an oasis in our new home! He arrived after construction with a colleague to go over the information we needed to know, which they made extremely simple! I would recommend John Clarkson pools highly!

We are so thankful we utilized Pools by John Clarkson as our pool builder. The entire team was extremely professional and helpful throughout the process. Kyle guided us through the design and initial budget and seamlessly transitioned to Johnny on the project management team. They were always responsive and thorough and the end result was better than we could have expected! We would highly recommend John Clarkson to anyone looking for a pool builder.

We would like to thank the entire PBJC family for their outstanding work on our dream pool. From the beginning, our designer, Jeff Hocker, was very informative and responsive to all our questions and needs throughout the entire process. We are particularly grateful to our project manager, Eric Jent, who went above and beyond in making sure every aspect of our pool was perfect.

He immediately attended to any issues that arose during the project, and his level of professionalism, integrity, and friendly nature made us feel at ease during what could have been a potentially frustrating experience. Having emotionally prepared for a project of this size, we were expecting at least some challenges, but thanks to Eric none of that occurred.

We were also extremely impressed with all of the subcontractors and team members that work with PBJC. Additonally we would like to thank some of the other staff that we have had frequent contact with such as Jim Sasser, Jim Grey, Darren, Brandi, and Steve. We initially decided on PBJC based on their reputation, and we were not disappointed. Everything from the customer service to the quality of the building materials shows why this company has earned and maintained their reputation. We are extremely pleased with our finished product and would recommend PBJC to anyone wishing to construct a pool or spa.

Good Grief! (where to begin?), simply put, if you don't have 100(+)-k to dump on a new pool, don't even bother these people. They, "pander to elitist" charging nearly double that of any other repair. The fact that we paid $125.00 (non-refundable) for what basically amounted to a, "sales pitch", they then had to, "go back to the office" just to gives us an estimate for a simple repair.

The estimate was nearly double what anyone else would charge for the very same work, I believe, (IMHO) that they purposely over-inflate the estimate astronomically to, discourage any commitment and you subsequently, by doing so, forfeit the deposit. (with very little effort on their part) They also want ALL of the cost of parts, "up front" (50% down, %50 upon completion), they literally don't want to be out ANY expenditure whatsoever. Is this a good, "business model"?, Yes if your, "bottom line" is your top priority (not your client), is it illegal? No, is it an ethical business practice?, "border line" in my opinion.

If you need a simple repair in a timely manner at a reasonable cost, this is not the place, go to Florida Bonded Pools instead, (sure, Florida Bonded has hit a few, "rough spots" lately but I think that they are, "back on track").

Overall, I haven't been very satisfied with their customer service. I've tried scheduling a service call for several weeks and continue to get the run around. If you don't pay the service fee in advance, you are repeatedly pushed to the back of the line. Are you kidding me I have to pay $95 just to be put on the schedule. Sounds backwards to me.

They are asking for a lot of faith in their business. The rest of the world believes you pay when you receive a service. Maybe I'm wrong though? Unfortunately they lost a very loyal customer and a great reference.
