Pool Surfaces Pyramid and Pool Surface's top chemists have studied the performance of white portland cement and fine marble pool plaster materials for almost twenty years. 1994 marks the year our lab developed a unique cement additive that deters chemicals and algae from damaging marble pool finishes. We received a patent on the product in 1994. Our Product has since been installed in thousands of commercial and residential swimming pools throughout the world.

Silicone Shield is a crystallizing, waterproofing additive, that was formulated specifically for the professional pool plaster trade. The additive reduces solubility of the cement, negates water penetration into plaster capillaries, and deters corrosion and erosion. Silicone reduces daily maintenance requirements, algae growth, and acid induced etching by over 70%.

Pool Surfaces continues to renovate, re-plaster, install pool plasters with quartz, marble, pebble, and is the ONLY manufacturer of a 100% granite, polished pool plaster that dominates the competition's polished marble-based plasters. Pool Surfaces also installs water line and spa tile, pool and spa coping, pool deck pavers, and pool deck texture.

Pool Surfaces services all of North Carolina, South Carolina, and has even made special trips to Ohio, Virginia, Georgia, Tennessee, and Alabama.

Natural Pebble - Pool Plaster Finish
Report
Natural Pebble - Pool Plaster Finish A bold natural landscape feature. Pebble plasters dramatically expand pool design possibilities. The finish can be drawn out of the water to form a beach-like entry or swim ledge. The pebble surfaces compliments waterfalls, flows and gradual slopes.

Looking directly into the pool, the textured surface and variety of hues will fascinate the eye. From a distance, the natural tan and brown of some of the custom blended pebbles will create shades of green in the water's reflection.

Unlike 9 out of 10 of our competition, we use only 100% INORGANIC pigments in our pool plaster finishes. Inorganic, synthetic, metal oxide pigments are impervious to chemical attack; UV rays, fading, discoloring, wash out. The ORGANIC blue pigment used by our competitors WILL fade in a swimming pool whether you use a salt/chlorine system or traditional chlorine system.
Colored Quartz - Pool Plaster Finishes
Report
Colored Quartz - Pool Plaster Finishes Our colored quartz finishes are less about structure and more about free form and flow. A close examination of the pool surfaces reveals multiple colors of contrasting sands, small pebbles, and pearlessence. The variegated grains seem to play with the light and give the pool finish more depth.

Our quartz aggregate blends are designed to be a complex matrix. The custom sizing of grains produces a tight interlocking surface, resulting in a beautiful, smooth quality. The background cement colorants are 100% inorganic blends of synthetic mineral oxides. This upgrade in quality will prevent fading and result in many, many years of resistance to chlorine, acid, and ultraviolet light.

The subtle sand series features glorious colors reminiscent of a tropical paradise. The glimmer and swirls of the 100% colored quartz will make your pool a natural gem.
Polished Granite - Pool Plaster Finish
Report
Polished Granite - Pool Plaster Finish Our 100% Granite finishes add a subtle stone overture to your pool. The slight sparkle, inherent to the Granite, enhances the light reflection underwater and water reflections from above.

The final polished surfaces has the luxurious feel of classical marble pool finishes; smooth and silky to the touch, but the strength, erosion resistance, and stain resistance of a quartz finish.

Our Granite has proprietary features. Lightly polishing the hard, felsic - igneous, stone plaster creates unparalleled durability and stain resistance. Color consistency and feel are raised to the highest level in a low maintenance plaster.

The superior series of smoothly polished plaster is elegant and understated. Our Granite plasters will compliment, not dominate your landscape. With 16 standard, and infinite custom, blends of 100% inorganic pigments to choose from, your Granite pool plaster will always look beautiful.
Classic Marble - Pool Plaster Finishes
Report
Classic Marble - Pool Plaster Finishes Classic pool and landscape architecture. Monochromatic marble plaster defines the interior lines of a pool more than a variegated, exposed aggregate finish. Emphasis is on the water and shimmering reflections of sun and sky. Our colored, marble based plaster is the traditional finish. Smooth to the touch and understated in a landscape.

The colorants we use are prime ingredients of 100% inorganic, iron and cobalt oxides. These exceptional products are fade-resistant coloring for pool plaster. Chlorine, acids, ultraviolet light and cement alkalinity have no affect on our pigments.
Proprietary color pigment dispersing characteristics minimize streaking during installation, and dramatically improves color uniformity.

We had our pool renovated over 4 years ago by Pool Surfaces, LLC. My neighbor got on the band wagon with a different company to have his pool renovated about 2 months after we had ours done. Because we chose to use Silicone Shield in our "Hawaiian" blue colored plaster, our pool is STILL as beautiful as it was the day it was installed.
(Of coarse we have been diligent with pH, chemical levels, and cleaning).

Our neighbor's plaster has gone from a baby blue color to a greenish grey color. Full of stains, AND the blue color seemed to get more and more "bleached out" every year. After doing some research, he discovered that the pool company he hired, used an ORGANIC blue pigment to color the plaster. The SAME organic blue pigment that is used to color blue jeans... AND the SAME organic blue that turns YELLOW/WHITE when CHLORINE BLEACH is spilled on it!!! THE SAME CHLORINE THAT YOU PUT IN YOUR POOL!!!

All said, he has hired Pool Surfaces to tear out and re-plaster his pool...
...make sure you research the products that your contractor is trying to sell you. (Unless, you don't mind having to re-plaster every 3 or so years).
Or, just contact Pool Surfaces for the best products and knowledge available.
