Just finished designing our pool with Will Haws and we're now under contract with Platinum Pools. Will has been amazing and quite honestly the main reason we're going with Platinum. I received cheaper quotes however Will did a heck a job designing and redesigning (x5) a pool that we're going to love. I fret over everything and Will really sold me! For those looking for a pool, look no further! I hope to update this review with more love for PP for those who may be on the fence with buying a pool. -Albert

Platinum pools was a nightmare to work with. Two years later, and they have still not completed our pool when we paid in full. The designer was amazing, but our construction manager had poor communication, was rude, made many mistakes, was never here and overall the company does not value their customers. They are asking for more money to finish, and it is a total scam.

Mark and the entire team at Platinum Pools have been fantastic from day 1. We had our first design within 24 hours of our first meeting and our final design within a week. The entire team has been very responsive and proactive with communication and they've been extremely flexible with small design changes throughout the entire process. If you're considering a pool in the Houston area, I'd highly recommend Platinum Pools!

Buddy our pool designer, came up with the best design for our backyard. Doug the build superintendent is the best! They both were outstanding throughout the build process. My family couldn't be more pleased!

From the first phone call until the final completion of pool construction Platinum exceeded our expectations. Working with Sean Smallwood to get the design exactly how we wanted it was a great experience. He's extremely knowledgeable and his ideas perfectly aligned with our vision. Our superintendent Dave was a breeze to work with, always kept us informed about all stages of the project and always willing to answer our questions. Thanks to both of you guys for making this a fun and stress free experience. If you're in the market for a new pool, I give Platinum Pools my highest recommendation.

Save your money, do NOT do business with Platinum Pools. Mark the designer is great but that's where the story ends for anything positive. After paying Platinum Pools $300k for this pool build the experience has been anything but positive. The pool was completed in March of 2021 and the issues have been ongoing ever since. As of the time of this review we have been waiting 3 months for a plumber to resolve an ongoing issue with a pump that is supposed to remove water from the sitting areas.

When it rains these fill up and get what you see below. The water even damaged the flooring and had to be replaced as well. When the next pump is replaced it will be the THIRD pump! The fact that a pool company has one plumber on staff is ridiculous. Again, save your money and find a pool company that follows through on delivering a good product.

Platinum pools did an amazing job with our design and installation of our pool. Ian came out, spent about an hour with us asking what our dream pool would look like and taking photos and measurements of our yard. We gave him the area that we wanted the pool in and told him to be creative with it. The pool that he designed was amazing! It was better than anything we could have designed ourselves.

Then came the installation, Doug and his team were the most professional and efficient with each stage of the process. Even with supply chain issues and work being done during Thanksgiving and Christmas they managed to complete the installation with very little down time. All in all I would highly recommend Platinum Pools to anyone looking to install a pool. Platinum is a highly professional company and unlike most, only requires payment during each stage instead of full payment upfront.

We have just started our pool journey with Platinum and to this point everything has been seamless. Our designer Kelly has been wonderful to work with. He is extremely responsive and answers all questions and concerns. Kelly goes above and beyond when it comes to service. He designed us a gorgeous pool that we cannot wait to see come to life!

The pool design and implementation process with Platinum Pools was a really seamless process. They outline each step of the process and expectations. Sean helped us with design of the pool and always called on a weekly basis to check on us to see if we had any questions or concerns. Desmond was our project manager and always communicated next steps in the pool project either via text or in person. Now we have our pool to enjoy! Highly recommend!

We hired Platinum Pools to do our remodel and after less than 2 weeks in to this project, we have yet to see a Platinum Pool project manager or employee at our property. They send contractors they have hired to do demolition and now tile. Those guys speak no English and it's pretty clear they aren't sure what they have come to do. We hired Platinum to manage every aspect of this project.

This is very frustrating and at this rate, this remodel will take much longer than expected because mistakes are being made and have to be redone. Despite almost daily calls to Platinum and promises from them to get someone that can manage this job, they have yet to follow through. IF this project gets turned around, I will post a good review after all is said and done, but my husband and I have lost a lot of faith in Platinum's ability to manage and complete this project given the way things are going.

First time pool builder so was very nervous about this and received bids from many companies but the thing that sold us on this was the way that Harrison handled the process related to this. He was on-time, professional and honest to include providing us guidance on size of pool, color scheme etc. as he remembered what would help compliment our house/yard colors/design.

This was one thing that was key to us was finding someone honest that would not nickel/dime us along with helping truly guide us through this process. We also had a great project manager in Michael that always kept us updated throughout the various phases and did a thorough review of the build/construction. I would say that between both Harrison and Michael, they made this process very easy for us and also the company itself delivered in hitting the milestone ahead of schedule which is a bit unheard of now and days with pool builds.

I would highly recommend Platinum Pools along with having Harrison and Michael on your team to make this the simplest process ever and always there to help address any questions that we had.

Our experience with Platinum Pools was amazing! After hearing horror stories from other pool owners we were really nervous, but the entire process went smooth. From our sales person, Kyle M, the construction supervisor, David B, and the support of Lynsie S and Meghann A in the office we had our every question and concern handled swiftly. David's crews were professional and highly skilled.

There were small hiccups with scheduling here and there that could not be avoided (weather, illness, holidays), but those are to be expected with any project of this size. Now that the pool is done we couldn't be happier, and have already enjoyed a few polar plunges! Excuse the mess in the pics, still working on landscaping.

We were originally going to go with another competitor but experienced several incidents with lack of communication prior to signing a contract which raised flags for us. When we reached out to Platinum Pools, they had superb follow up. Will Haws was our designer and when he met us for the initial consultation at our property, we admired how he didn't try sell us a pool; he was very personable and immediately provided us with a great looking design that we fell in love with.

Will Haws thoroughly explained each phase of the project, was patient with all our questions, and stayed within our budget. We would highly recommend working with Will Haws at Platinum Pools to anyone looking to work with an awesome designer but most of all a reputable company.

I will be happy to privately share the details of our experience with this company, to spare you the same nightmare. They will sell you one thing, and deliver another. We are eight months from signing the contract with Platinum (photo taken today), and were just told it will be 2 months before our pool decking arrives (the pool decking we were told to select 8 months ago in order to avoid delays, which we did). Turns out they never placed the order and are just doing so now.

They also took our pool heater, broke it, and then implied we still had it-at least until one of their crew finally admitted they indeed took it. It's looking like we will be lucky if our pool is installed less than a year from contract signing. Update: We are now entering year 2 of our construction project. We don't have any expectation of when it will be completed, nor would we believe anything they told us at this point.

I am very satisfied with the customer service I experienced with Platinum Pools. Kyle Maddux was prompt and very professional. During his visit he was patient with us and ensured we understood the entire pool building and buying process. Kyle listened to our concerns and ideas. We felt at ease during the entire visit. We never felt rushed or pressured. It was a very educational and refreshing visit. If you are considering working with Platinum Pool, please ask for Kyle Maddux!

My family had recently had a pool and backyard remodel completed by Platinum Pools in Spring, Texas. Mark Wyner and his team, specifically Anthony Tohill, did a phenomenal job on completing the entire backyard in record time. Attention to detail was always top of mind, and no surprises were had. I recommend Platinum Pools for your home. They are professional, timely, and responsive.

My wife and I chose Platinum Pools for our new pool because of their exception quality and professionalism. Buddy H. was our designer and he provided great information about building a pool while showing us the Platinum difference. He was great to work with and took our ideas and put them into a design that we loved all while ensuring we stayed within budget. David B. was our construction manager and he ensured that each phase of construction was done to the Platinum Pools standard while keeping my wife and I informed of timelines.

There were several of our neighbors building pools around the same time and we heard about many of their 'nightmares' with their pool builder. Platinum Pools gave my wife and I reassurance about materials and timelines and continues to provide support after pool completions as we learn the ins and outs of pool ownership. We highly recommend Platinum Pools and the team that helped on our project.

We are currently working with Platinum Pools on building our first pool. Will has delivered exceptional customer service, he has been professional and very informative helping us every step of the way. We are very excited to see the final product. If you are looking for a company who has their customers best interest at heart, I'd certainly recommend working with Will Haws at Platinum Pools!

We had a fantastic experience with Platinum Pools and a beautiful pool and spa to show for it. Buddy and Doug were amazing to work with. Buddy's amazing design far exceeded what I thought we were going to be able to accomplish, and Doug's construction leadership and attention to detail brought it all to life. I always knew what was going on and for a person like me, that was very important. Thank you Platinum! We love our pool! Larry and Laurie D.

Let me start by saying I would highly recommend Platinum Pools for designing and building a pool. We had a 25x15 pool with tanning deck, steps, step rail, light with beautiful tile and decking installed. We started with an interview/estimate done by one of the most professional young salesmen I've met in a really long time, his name is Harrison. This fellow explained the process, people that would be involved, cost and time it would take to complete the project barring rain delays with a reassuring knowledge of his business.

The project started on or about May 10 after meeting and approving the design layout with a no nonsense project manager Doug on April 15. I can say all of the workers were respectful of our property and surrounding neighborly community, beyond the noise of construction, they were extremely quiet. They were here to work and not talk laugh joke around I was impressed.

Because we chose to use one of the many financing groups Harrison had recommended, the project was turnkey. At the end of each phase we gave approval or disapproval per the contract to the finance company and they would pay Platinum no money out of my pocket onsite. There were no outrageous setbacks which allow the whole project to take just over 3-months with rain delays. Going back to Harrison, this kid was on vacation and I think got married?

But he was checking on us and the progress of things. He and Doug are what customers/clients need as salesmen and management of resources. Keep up the good work Platinum, everyone that sees our small pool wants one too. We would use your company again.

I would not do business with Platinum Pools if they paid me. They are incapable of making a plan to do work and executing the work they commit to do. I finally abandoned Platinum Pools and went to Leslie Pool Supply to repair freeze damage from last Feb. platinum had a non-ending list of excuses why they could not schedule nor complete the work. Leslie finished the work in less than a month from the initial contact.

We built our pool with Platinum last year. Buddy Harrott was our designer. We had a great experience and are enjoying our pool. Every time temperatures are expected to drop below 32F we receive a message with a reminder to keep our pumps running to prevent damage to our equipment. The week before winter storm Uri, we received several emails from the after sales department and from our designer Buddy, with instructions on how to prevent damage to our pool equipment, including detailed instructions on what to do in case we'd lose power. Needless to say those instructions came in handy (we had 51 hours of uninterrupted power blackout!) We are very thankful Platinum gave us all the information we needed to protect our investment!

Mark's design was incredible so I chose Platinum even though they were more expensive than the other bidders. I signed the contract almost 7 months ago and the pool is still not finished. Delays and excuses the whole way. Had a problem at start up and it will take them a week to fix it. Poor communication and customer service.

Our pool was installed in 2007 and I'm still finding new things wrong with the construction. The sales person seemed very knowledgeable. And I had a simple pool design in mind: A Rectangle. Yep. I didn't want a tropical scene. We went with a 40x15 with a deep end and a 7x7 spa, flush with the pool deck. So, simple. The only feature we decided to add were "pencil jet fountains".

The primary issue was a lack of oversite. Our supervisor only showed up to collect checks. He was not overseeing the construction. And the workers? Sub-contractors. In fact, some of the sub-contractors subbed the work out to sub-sub-contractors. Digging went OK, except the construction equipment destroyed the neighborhood sidewalk. If an 8x4 piece of plywood had been placed over the sidewalk, it would have been fine. Nope. Piping, Rebar and concrete seemed to go OK.

And then, the pool cracked. Yep, it cracked about dead center at the 20 foot mark. At first they said everything was OK, just let the plaster fill it in. I forced them to inject repair epoxy into the crack. It was from the top of one side down to the bottom, over to the other side and up. No idea what could cause this. On to installation of the tile and coping.

Some of the tile was installed upside down. The contractor was chatting with my wife in Spanish and said "Do you think they owners will notice?" Yeah. Nice. It was fixed. Then after installation of the tile and coping, I noticed "hollow" sounds tapping on the tile and coping. Let me stop here and first state that when they say "Flag Stone", they mean Sandstone. Yep Sandstone that continues to flake and dissolve 13 years later.

I had them redo the tile and the coping to fix the voids behind them. But looking at the coping, it was HORRIBLE. All the pieces were mismatched. Instead of a smooth ring around the pool, all of these thick and thin pieces were mismatched around. And everything had machine marks from the cutting. On the mismatch? Oh, that is natural rock. Too bad.

On the machine marks? I personally spent days with heavy duty sanders to remove the marks. I had to take time off from work. Then came the pouring of the pool deck. I looked at the square box pencil-jets and noticed they were not straight. I called our supervisor, no response. I called our sales guy, no response. I put up a sign to not pour the deck until we had these fixed.

It was ignored and the deck poured with all 6 of the jets turned and twisted in various directions. They-looked-horrible! Finally, with ALL of these problems, the owner (who lives in the neighborhood!) finally came over and also could not believe all of the things that went wrong with the pool. He offered to jackhammer the deck and fix the pencil jets.

That would have taken weeks, and we were already getting to summer! I agreed to covers to hide the poor installation. I should have let him fix it properly. Equipment worked OK and we got it started up. Hot tub didn't work, broken automatic valves. Then a month later, the primary pump failed. It was 1/2 hp. I did not realize they replaced it with a full 1 hp pump.

My "boost pump" was only 3/4 hp. Over the years, that 1 hp pump cost me thousands of dollars in electricity costs. And I've found out that several items my sales guy pushed to include in my equipment are garbage. The only thing the Pool Frog did was give me enough space in my piping to install a Salt Water Chlorine Generator (this year). And don't get me started on the "ozone generator". Worthless junk!

And the "mineral cartridges" are actually detrimental to the pool! Never add metals to your water, unless you like stains! Again, the coping has flaked and disintegrated and dropped sand and flakes into the pool. For years. And still is doing this to this day. What else is wrong? The pool light niches were not straight (screw should be right at the TOP!).

The main drain is not straight. Come on, man! That should be the simplest thing to do. Well, the pencil jets were not straight either, so what should I expect. And this year? 13 years later, I was draining and refilling the pool (CYA Stabilizer block from the STUPID trichlor tablets). As I filled the pool, I noticed the flat block leading into the skimmer at one of the pool was higher than the other.

They should be EXACTLY the same height. The top of the block should match with the bottom of the tile. It does at one end. At the other, they made the bottom flush with the tile. Again, a lot of this was fixed, sometimes after repeated attempts. And the pool has generally held up. Normal equipment repairs. What went well? Quartzite (Diamond Brite) plaster.

Still looks good after 13 years. And the Sundek coating (Bullion Coatings) has done very well. Oh, and I have great stories to tell people about the adventure, like the crazy girlfriend/boyfriend stories we all have. Please consider any other "builder". They are not a builder. They are a design and contract out shop. And not a good one.

Mark and Malik helped us bring our ideas of building our dream pool and backyard to reality! The process was smooth and they were so easy to work with, even with our ever changing ideas. They had great suggestions and was always willing to help throughout the building process to perfectly coordinate our new pool with our new house construction. Mark and Malik were always available to answer any and all of our questions and even popped over to the house in person when needed. I would highly recommend Mark and Malik to anyone who is looking to build and design your dream pool!

Horrible experience. One thing wrong after another. The construction aspect to things were great (Raul was amazing to work with, and always helpful and responsive, timely, etc). That's about it. I've reached out to my designer (Mark Wyner) with my concerns, and it's obvious that he doesn't care. He just says "sorry to hear that." I felt extremely taken advantage of for being nice throughout all of the mistakes.

He made it sounds like the process would be smoother and everything would be pretty easy. Some of the issues in short- huge delay in starting construction that could have easily been resolved by asking me to get electric lines buried. Instead we waited months while I had no clue I could have fixed this in one day. This again became an issue later one, and we waited another whole month with no responses.

This is all something that I could have gotten taken care of in one day. I noticed the day of tiling that the wrong tile was being placed. I had picked it out The tile so long ago, and has no clue when it would be done and was told I could change it at anytime. Well, randomly saw the guys placing the wrong one. Called to get it stopped, but they finished.

I ended up having to pay for it to be taken down and replaced. It could have easily been confirmed before being done. Especially since the day I looked at tiles was months before it being placed. I don't feel like this was an expense I should have encountered. We're a month out since plaster, and I still haven't had pool school (48 hours after water fill?) and clueless with how these machines work and keeping the water balanced.

I had asked before hand what maintenance was like, and if I'd be needing to shock the pool and was told no. After the water turned green, I had to shock it a few day's ago, still don't know how to operate the equipment. I'm hoping I don't ruin the plaster. After all of this, I wish that I would have gone with another company, and couldn't say that I'd recommend to anyone else.

I can't say enough good things about platinum pools. Ian our designer was absolutely amazing! He really made our dream come to life! He even checked in throughout the process. We had a minor error with tile being installed but platinum came out and fixed it ASAP. Malik our project manager was the BEST! He was always ahead of schedule and made sure all the guys cleaned up and the tasks were done correctly.

He still will come out sometimes to help us with chemicals and such. We read a lot of reviews before choosing a pool builder and so glad that we chose platinum pools. Very professional and we're in love with our backyard!

13 years later and $60K on a pool once again we have 5 cracks, a deck that is falling behind the spa, no working pool lights for over 10 years and another summer with a deep unusable hole in the ground. Don't use Platinum, run as fast as you can away! Additional bonus, the lights that have been shorted out 10+ years and we were originally charged 1635.00 for them to get them fixed is now over $5K.

Also owner Scott Waldo has never reached out, what a coward. I will give them this, at least the warranty department has been attempting to fix this pool for 13 years, but really ask yourself is this what you want in a pool is to be calling a warranty dept every year or two to fix a pool?

Ah! The wonderful process of building a pool. We had read all the nightmares that many people have had with several different pool construction companies. We took our time and interviewed several before choosing Platinum Pools to build our dream oasis in the Heights. And just like everyone says, the honeymoon period is always in the beginning with the salesman and design team.

Mark Whyner was an excellent designer and account manager. He stayed with us from first meet to the very end. Also the ladies in the office were very responsive and we're always on the field guys to get things done. In between we of course had some bumps, with the project manager quitting in the middle of construction, and having several delays and equipment issues. However, the overall project and quality was outstanding.

The only reason we have not given it five stars is because of the several delays we had and time spent chasing the new project manager to finalize certain pieces of the pool. In the end, the pool is exactly as designed and ordered. Everything working from my smartphone is awesome and extremely convenient. I highly recommend platinum pools as a pool construction contractor, you will have bumps along the way, that is to be expected.

We found the best way to steer through these issues was constant communication, even applying pressure when needed. Please see my attached video and pictures. They don't do the pool justice.

Poor Service Quality. Our HOA worked with Platinum Pools for over six weeks designing our pool remodel and on the day we were going to sign meet with the very nice Service Manager, he informed us that the Upper Management was refusing all remodel work for 6 months. This despite we were signing the contract on that day. This put our remodel behind as we had to find another pool company to complete the work. This reflects a total lack of professionalism and service quality on the part of the management of Platinum Pools.

This is the second pool we have built in the last five years and we made a significant mistake giving our business to Platinum instead of sticking with the company who built the pool at our last house. While I could write quite a bit about our terrible experience with Platinum (from our salesperson, to the GM, to the two different "project managers") I will do my best to be brief by merely saying this company has some of the least responsive, poorest communication skills I have ever experienced and does absolutely nothing to address problems and concerns generated by their actions and inactions.

Our pool took nearly six months to complete and was a simple, small design with pavers. They actually scheduled "pool school" without realizing the pool wasn't even finished (nobody had installed the water bowls and we had to tell them that wasn't done). They created thousands of dollars worth of damage to our sprinkler system and landscaping and everyone, up to the owner, basically said "read your contract, that's your responsibility." At this price point, you expect solid communication and at least professional planning and responses to issues, but Platinum provided neither.

There are so many options with pool builders, and we had a great experience a few years ago, but we went with Platinum this time to save a few dollars. However, once the Platinum sales pitch is over, so is the service. Our family was faced with nearly half a year of stress dealing with this company on a weekly basis and we highly suggest you look at other options so you don't experience what we went through. Finally, I will say that the only two bright spots (towards the end) occurred when Dalinda and Lynsie stepped in to try and clean up the mess created by our sales guy, two project managers and a completely unresponsive GM and Construction Manager. Unfortunately, those two ladies couldn't make up for what was the worst service and communication our family has ever experienced with a construction project.

Destroyed our property and built the worst pool ever built. This company had to come out and rebuild our pool three times the last time the job was completed in January 2018 now the pool is still breaking down and they refused to come out and service it by honoring the warranty They ask us for money every single time when we were supposed to be getting a new pool! Please don't use this pool company they are a scam artist and very dishonest Dont waste your money.

I have waited over a year before reviewing this company as I did not want my experience to cloud my judgement of this company. Being a realtor with over 15 years experience in the Houston market and having seen 100s of homes with pools, I took my time before deciding to hire Platinum. Scott Waldo was a delight to work with but underneath him, I often found incompetency in many of the others I dealt with.

While appearance wise my pool does look stunning and is highlighted throughout their website in many places, it is the quality of the equipment they use and the misdirected guidance we received at the get go when we were dealing with their sales team. A total project of $260,000, which is a lot of money for anyone to spend, appearances aside, we were surprised with how deficient they were in the eqipument used on the pool. Selling promises but not being able to deliver on them seemed to be the mantra.

Since construction fire features have given constant problem, vanishing edge often fails to work, equipment that has had to be repaired multiple times. All in all, just not the best experience for anyone to deal with. Guests have never seen everything functioning on my pool since it was put in. Eventually they pushed me onto Miller Pools to handle the weekly maintenance and service issues {which I was told wouldnt be necessary because of all the energy efficient /cleaning features put in} and no it did not miraculously fix their equipment issues, they simply passed on the buck to another company who now deals with their issues instead. Miller pools I give 5 stars for taking care of another company's mistakes.

Buyers beware! Disappointing. If you are looking for clear communication about your pool after purchase this would not be the best choice. It started out great and has went downhill week by week. Almost done with the process but would not recommend. Stressful and always something new coming up. Never received clear steps on what to expect next. So the so called quality they promised is a joke.

I definitely do not recommend them. Yesterday they showed up unannounced to replaster my pool due to foot prints in the original plaster. They have no communication and I have yet to have anyone even care that it has been such a horrible experience. Buyers beware.

My son is a disabled veteran. After five long years in the hospital, he was discharged and we were finally able to bring him home to a fully handicap accessible home that we had built, our main goal being to make his life as comfortable as possible. When we made the decision to install a pool for his water therapy and for a place for his kids to enjoy, we consulted with multiple pool companies. Platinum Pools stood out from the rest. Danny Colicci patiently walked us through the design process and helped us choose the right pool for our situation, addressing all of our concerns and helping us to feel comfortable in the transaction.

The price he gave us blew the competition out of the water (pun intended). The owner, Scott Waldo, personally came to our home to ensure that we were getting the best service and even suggested some very thoughtful modifications to our design (that we are so happy we implemented!). The best part? Our pool is gorgeous. Friends, family and neighbors have all complimented the latest addition to our yard.

My son loves his new pool and his kids can't wait to spend the summer swimming! A big thank you to Platinum Pools and all of the contractors that helped make this dream a reality for our family. 10/10 would recommend to others.

We had a wonderful experience with Platinum pools in Houston three years ago. Shaun our sales representative was very patient and worked hard to make sure we got exactly what we wanted, Clint our construction manager was available at all times for questions, changes and kept our project moving. They also worked well with our other contractor simultaneously so we could have our entire project done quickly.

Three years later we still love our pool. The warranty and maintenance department have been great for the few issues we have had, they respond quickly and help resolve warranty issues so we aren't out of pocket.
