I had the pleasure of allowing Mackie Brothers to install my pool last year and they went above and beyond expectations. The entire team from start to finish was amazing and I would recommend them to anyone that wants a top notch quality pool. All of my questions and needs were met in a timely manner and I was just amazed at how well everything turned out. Thanks again Mackie Brothers for turning my backyard into an oasis, just beautiful.

I am a mechanical and plumbing contractor and I find Mackie Bros. to be the worst sort of contractor that I have had the misfortune to come into contact with. They came well recommended and are very accommodating and easy to deal with on the sales end but their performance during the project, quality, and responsiveness on warranty items (which are extensive in my case) has been basically non existent.
The project which is a fairly large in ground concrete pool began in early April of 2017 and was substantially complete in Nov. of '17. The stone masonry work is poor workmanship in terms of basic grout and stone placement causing significant cracking of grout almost immediately after install that has only worsened over the last 13 months. They left trash all over the work site including beer cans (which they denied but I'm quite sure it wasn't me, my wife or my 9 and under children).
The plumbing may look fine to a layperson but anyone with a working knowledge of fluid flow and piping craftsmanship would see the excess pressure drop and lack of consideration of future system maintenance. They installed my heater with the wrong accessories for the propane system I have which was immediately apparent upon start up due to black plumes of exhaust and serious carbon build up on the venting.
I was assured that the system was not damaged and I allowed them to replace the NG manifold with the proper propane manifold rather than replace the entire unit. In less than 1 year of operation the unit has essentially melted itself and is unsafe to operate. Because the project wasn't completed until November we agreed to wait until warm weather in the spring to address the concrete and grout issues.
After many phone calls and messages to multiple people in the company and several promises to call me back and "figure out a date and time" I have been ignored. As a contractor I tried very hard to give the benefit of the doubt but I never should have given them final payment. Nobody did anything but give me lip service after that. The next correspondence from me will be via my attorney.

From the start, we should have known we picked the wrong pool company. They tell you during the sales pitch that the owners will be on-site once a week to monitor progress. We signed a contract with them in December 2014, our pool was completed in September of 2015 and we only saw the owners in their office to show us the design and pick out tile.
I don't know if there communication/scheduling problem is due to the fact that they don't have a secretary, but it is horrible. After the pool was installed, if we called them for a particular problem or issue, we had to continually contact them to get them out there, sometimes it takes months. And the issue/problem is not taken care of, we had to contact them, over and over again, to find out if they had a solution and when they could care take of it. additional months.
We have been trying since the middle of April to get someone out because we are having problems with calcium buildup. I called and spoke with Ben Bradford last Tuesday (5/28/19). He said he checked Eric Mackie's schedule and we were down for Thursday (5/30/19) or Friday (5/31/19) of that week. Not trusting due to prior experience, I called someone else.
I called Mackie Brothers on Wednesday (5/29/19) to let them know we found someone else and William Mackie could not find us on the schedule. Needless to say, when the new guy came out it was discovered that Mackie Brothers did not give us complete instructions on pool care and what should be monitored outside of the smart technology features. If I could have posted this and gave zero stars, I would have.

I spoke with multiple cookie cutter pool contractors who would agree to meet with me, but weren't really interested once they saw how challenging the landscape would be to put a pool in where I wanted it. Mackie Brothers far exceeded my expectations. They built exactly what we were looking for in a custom pool, beautiful stonework hand crafted with modern technology brought my backyard to life!
They continue to maintenance my pool to this day, when we call them for any reason they are always eager to help. Building a pool can be stressful, so happy we went with these guys. Great Experience!

Mackie Brothers built our pool & spa in April of 2007. The planning & design was thoughtful and inspiring. The smart features installed keep our pool with pristine, swim-ready water.
