G W King Pools

I have had nothing but frustration with Ron King and King Pools. They do not do what they promise and after you follow (or attempt) they ignore you. I sent a certified letter to this business and the refused to accept it. What you are seeing in the pictures are repairs needed they now for over a year. While my build was going on the city issued a cease and desist due to them failing to ascertain the appropriate permits. Had I not taken pictures they would have again not received a green tag as they closed the walls without an inspection. I'm concerned now as I am having equipment problems - My pool is almost 3 years old now which is frightening in itself. I am hopeful this information will help someone!

Loved it, small and cozy little pub. The only thing was the wait time to get in, but it went by pretty quick. Once seated, we got served quickly, our waitress was awesome. Will definitely go again.

These guys come put in a pool at a neighbor's place but parked their excavation broke-down trucks in front of my house & leaked oil/grease all over the street by my mailbox. I called and spoke to some woman who requested I send her pics of the stained street, which I did. However, that is all I have seen or heard from these clowns. Hopefully, if you are foolish enough to hire this company, just know that if something goes wrong, they will disappear. Never trust this fly-by-night company!

I don't have any comparative experience since I've only ever done 1 pool project. Communications throughout the project and into the first week of operations were very poor. Basically no communication. Rarely saw anyone from King Pools during the project. Closing the project was painful. I gave up on them for a lot of the small tasks that just required a bit of effort and hired other contractors to finish. I learned a lot. If I had to do it again, I'd do things differently and I would use King Pools.

The building presentation was fabulous, the training pretty good, worked great with me on all my changes but at year now 3 of pool ownership I have a plaster crack. King brand signature upgrade and I cannot get a response on the warranty, repair, suggestion. Dead Silence for over a month. Every other issue repaired, replaced, or attended to. Multiple attempts to contact them. Nothing.

Would have given 4 stars, but in 3 years we have had to call technicians on multiple occasions. We have a weekly pool technician that makes sure things are always in order - not King related.

Great company. Our backyard oasis is everything. They built our pool and outdoor kitchen and we're very satisfied. Service is also great. Billy maintains our pools sparking clear and is even available to take my calls in between service days if I have any questions about chemical balance. I've also had to call in a warranty request and service was prompt and quick. We had a minor issue last night and the technicians were out bright and early the next morning. Thank you for a great build and great after service.

We had a pool installed by GW King Pools in April 2018. From start to finish we were extremely happy with the process and end result. The crew was very friendly, 'courteous and professional. The project fell well within our budget as discussed. King Pools even installed a gorgeous mosaic. The excellent quality, workmanship and professionalism are reflected in every aspect of the installation process.

A rough sketch turned into a finished product in just a few weeks with very little disruption of our day to day living. Our Goldendoodle loves the pool too! Thank you GW King Pools!

Our motor was smoking like a chimney. Called King Pools on Friday. Motor was replaced on Monday. Chris and his assistant had the pool up and running in no time at all beating the 80+ temp. I would and have always recommended King Pools to all who ask.

Homeowner beware! Do not hire Gary King dba G.W. King Pools. He is the most unscrupulous person you will ever meet. From the very beginning stage he threatened to walk off the job if we expressed our concerns, ie - damage done to our home by the subcontractors he places in your backyard. We have had a chunk of stucco taken out of our home, damage to our existing cement, his workers poured toxic waste on our existing landscape killing our trees, his workers damaged our brand new fence.

He gets very defensive when you bring these items to his attention. He is basically a 'Dispatcher' as he never shows up to oversee the construction and building of the pool. He creates a lot of 'smoke and mirrors' by talking too much and never staying on point. We had problems with the excavation (tour up our existing drains pipes).

We also had problems with the gunite - overspray and making mistakes with the steps, etc - taking away square footage by curving the areas of the deep end too soon. We have tiles that were left dirty and crooked. The mastic lining around the pool is crooked in areas. The worst part of all was the prepping and pouring of the concrete deck. We had to have it demolished and re-poured in 4 different areas several times only to learn they forgot to add rebar when the re-poured causing safety issues.

We have cracks forming everywhere, standing water all around, uneven edges, scratches and discoloration everywhere. His concrete subcontractor walked off the job because he refused to get is done properly. He refuses to acknowledge the Correction Notice' that was placed by the City of Ripon and has yet to have the final inspection done on our pool.

We had to change our own gates to code and he added a required safety device to pass 'pre-plaster inspection' only to steal it back after the inspector signed off. This has been our worst nightmare as we were so looking forward to a wonderful experience for our family to enjoy! Think twice before you call King Pools!

We have had our King Pool completed for a little over a month now. I just can not say enough good things about Ron and his staff. I interviewed several companies and Ron made us the best deal by far and more importantly went out of his way to answer all my questions and concerns up front. I have seen other reviews complain about install time and service.

This was Absolutely NOT our experience. My husband called Ron the night before we were scheduled to dig to express the concerns I had over the reviews. Ron came out to the house, answered my questions and made sure I was 100% comfortable with the process and contract. The pool was finished ahead of schedule. The communication throughout the process was fantastic.

The workers were very polite and friendly. Most importantly, the pool itself came out BETTER than I had expected. It is a high quality gorgeous work of art in my back yard. No corners were cut, we are beyond happy with the pool. I would recommend these folks to anyone! Thanks King Pools!

King pools was very professional, It is obvious Ron really knows pool building and was a great guy to deal with. and he quoted us a very competitive price compared to other companies in the area. We definatley recommend king pools

We have had our pool for almost 3 years now. (Reason I'm writing review is I had to call for warranty maintenance on Pentax Razor pool cleaner and saw there weren't many reviews for King Pools.) Have not had problems with pool since construction was completed. We have had issues with the little pool cleaner that runs on the bottom, but warranty company has been excellent in getting those resolved quickly.

When pricing out pools, we got the best deal from King Pools. Ron King came out two or three times and we hammered out a deal much better (several thousand cheaper) than competitors in our area. (Midlothian, TX) Construction of pool did take a long time - probably longer than our house took. Their construction foreman was a rude little pig of man.

Some short guy who kissed Ron King's butt every time Ron was on property, and then was rude as hell when Ron wasn't. Don't remember his name. We ran him off and we had to oversee the guys doing the work to make sure little things were done correctly - like hooking up auto-fill to our water line instead of faucet, mosaics in right place, steps and benches formed in right places, etc.

So construction wasn't as smooth as it could have been. Once construction was completed, pool has ran smooth. We take care of the pool ourselves - it's our third home with a pool. Can't review his service techs as we don't use them. We have had no problems with water circulation, pump equipment, auxiliary cleaner motor, filter system, or auto-fill. Only issues have been with auto-pool cleaner, but that's not King Pools fault.

My wife and I had our pool built by Gary King, and I gotta say it transformed our backyard. It turned out so much better than we could have imagined, thanks to King Pools. Gary is 100% professional; plus his experience and expertise made the process smooth and enjoyable. We loved how well Gary accommodated our schedule to meet with us morning, day, or night.

He hands down gave us the best quality for a great price. Gary was not afraid to be honest and upfront with costs, and found areas to work with us to make sure we got the pool of our dreams. I have referred Gary to all sorts of people, including family, and many of them saw the value in his work too. If you are looking for a pool and have not spoken with Gary you owe it to yourself to let him work his magic. THANKS GARY!

We had our pool and cool decking done with Gary King and his sub contractor Aqua Pools and about a month or two after the pool was completed the cool decking started cracking and coming off. We contacted Gary and he came and looked at the decking and said they used the wrong bonding agent which is why it was peeling off. He said it would be fixed and that was 2 and a half years ago.

We have tried reaching out to him multiple times with no solution and he has yet to fix the problem with the deck. this was a 30,000$ job for his company and they will not back the work that they did. I would not use this company and would not refer anyone to either GW King Pools or Aqua Pools. Dennis Young

I am extremely pleased with my new pool built by Gary King of GW King Pools! My pool was completed and filled with water one week before the contracted completion date! I checked out several other pool companies and each of them had a 3 month completion time. Gary King finished my pool in just under 7 weeks. The quality of my pool is fantastic. It is absolutely beautiful. Gary has always been respectful and available if I had any questions.

I have heard from many friends that have had pools put in, that many other pool companies are too busy to give that kind of personal attention. The crews that Gary King hires to do each portion of the process were extremely polite, considerate and cleaned up after themselves. From the digging of the hole to the applying plaster and filling with water, I have no regrets in hiring Gary King. Best part of the whole process? Gary's prices were easily 5-6k less than his competitors. Thank you, Gary!

45-22-08 G.W. King started the remodel of my pool and spa, plaster and tile replacement. The job was finished in July of 2008. With them having to redo an area of approx. 20 feet of tile that started to pop and loosen before the pool was finished. In 2012 the same area of tile started to pop and loosen, I contacted Gary King and he said the warranty on the tile work was only for 2 years but he would call me back to set up a service call, with his tile setter to repair the tile at my expense. Gary did not call me back, even after I called two more times leaving a call back message. Today, 5/30/14, while I was brushing the pool 3 pieces of the tile fell off, there is another 18 feet of tile that is loose and ready to fall off.

This is the same area that King Pools had to redo before the pool remodel in 2008 was even completed. Not what you expect after spending $10,000.00 for the remodel of the plaster and tile. There was numerous other issues during the remodel.

G.W. King Pools is a top of the line builder. Quality workmanship, attention to detail and after construction support have been excellant. Finished work ahead of schedule. I recommend king pools highly.
