Design Pool & Spa, Ltd. is committed to maintaining our reputation as upstate NY's premier gunite builder for both residential and commercial projects. Through three generations of family operation, our team of experts has established the standard of excellence to which we have remained firmly devoted since 1968.
Gunite is unsurpassed for strength, durability, and for creative, custom design. Gunite is a mixture of concrete and sand that is combined with water and sprayed through a nozzle, over a framework of reinforced steel. This means that gunite pools are built to last. And, unlike other traditional pool construction methods, gunite allows you to choose any number of shapes and finishes to give you the look you've always envisioned for your pool.
Once you are satisfied with the position of the pool, we will remove any obstacles for construction (i.e., trees, fence, etc.). Design Pool and Spa will obtain any and all permits to build the pool in compliance with all building codes and swimming pool standards. Design Pool and Spa will tie a system of steel rods to conform to the shape of the pool.

We have been with DPAS for over 15 years now. Every encounter only gets better. From Theresa at service to the people who service our pool, Ed Mike, and more, no matter how small or big the job they are friendly, attentive, highly competent and accessible. When I want to do work on my own they have let me send them photos and movies and advised me in my work.
One time they even let me bring in my pump to repair my impeller and helped me do it on the spot in their shop. When I have called them to do service sometimes they come on the same day and will give me great advice on how to maintain and keep my pool looking great. DAPS really does highlight the adage, beware, you get what you pay for. I've gone to less expensive places to save a few bucks and paid for it in the long run. I recommend them highly!

Can't say enough about Gary and the whole team (too many great folks to call out). We just finished the install and opening of our new pool. What is inevitably a long and stressful experience was made a little less so by the world class service and work done by their whole team. We are one month in with the retail and service team now, and they have not let up in their standards. Thank you to everyone over there!

"Design Pools is the best-for both servicing of pool equipment and opening and closing of my pool. Our pool opened today and it has blue water and cleaned inside and out (deck) by Design Pools, unlike other pool companies we have used that left most of the work for us to do.
