Nightmare working with CA Pool (Carson) From the start it seemed like it would be a smooth process, however as time went by i knew i was in trouble. I asked my sales rep if i could get out of the contract due to slow response and having a bad feeling. I was informed if i cancel the contract i would have to pay approximately 1500 to cancel. I stayed with CA Pool.

My experience with CA pool has been a nightmare from beginning to end. The project was to be completed 1/12/2022. Carson Office California Pool Team Members: Manager Robert Monroe; Sales Rep: Britany Somers; Project Manager: Wil Somers; Office Mgr: Andi Addimando Prior to going on vacation in September 18, 2021. The sale rep informed me that her manager need to come out to do a walk through prior to any ordering of material that I wanted for my yard.

The manager (Robert) came out did a walk through and informed me he would have my yard completed in the week while I'm on vacation. I was surprised that it could be done in a weeks' time. Even my sales rep ( Brittany) informed me I could leave 3 separate checks prior to going on vacation because the work would be completed. I decided to wait until the schedule day of construction to start which was Oct 8, 2021 so I could monitor the work being done at my home.

The main reason why I was so persistent for the manger to come out to the house prior to my vacation was to have CA Pool order all the materials so it wouldn't be a problem of backlog once the work started. During my vacation the sale rep email a material selection sheet indicating I need to sign the form before they could order the material.

I sent an email back asking why didn't she bring this to my attention prior to me going on vacation because she knew the main purpose of her manager coming to my house was to do the required walk thought so the material could be order. Let's just say my materials was never order while I was on vacation. I kept asking the sale rep and the project manager have my materials been ordered.

I received two different responses, the materials been ordered, and they been order but due to the supply chain issue CA been having the materials were delayed. I then reached out to Robert, and long behold my material were never ordered i was lied too by the team that was over my project. The material was finally order by Andi the office manager once she received the order from the subcontractor.

The contractors showed up on Oct 6, 2021 to demo the yard, I believe they worked two days and did not come back to my house until a week or so later, leaving the dumpster full of the demo concrete in front of the house during that time period. I had to keep calling the office to find out when the dumpster would be removed. Once the sub-contractor started to work installing the copping I notice it was being installed in the same design as the previous copping.

I spoked to them and they informed that was the way it had to be. During our initial consultation with Brittany, she asked my wife and I how did we want the pool. didn't know we could have it shaped square vs rounded corners until Brittany informed me of this design, she even drew a diagram on a piece of bond paper in blue ink with my pool shaped square.

I called CA pool Rep that morning when the contractors was staring the install to ask about the shape of the pool. Sales Rep response was I don't recall telling you this. Once the sub contractors started doing the work, they're were great true professionals. I had no problems with the sub contractors. I notice one area of my yard was not paved with the pavers, so I inquired with my sales rep, she mentioned something about plans, that I need to review the plans.

I asked what plans. I was then emailed professional plans that I never was given prior to the job starting. I then reach out to Robert to ask about the plans, I asked him should I have been given a copy of the plans to review and approves prior to any work starting at my house? This way CA Pool would have my initial on the plans indicating I approve the plans as drawn, releasing any liability form CA Pool if I challenge any work that I felt was not done correct, Robert response was yes.

A week or so later. did asked CA Pool to build 2 Flower boxes to mirror the one they built for me during the initial install. They agreed to and I agreed to the added cost of 4k, which I believe was way to much considering the one they built for me was $1,050 and its bigger than the ones I have added. I truly believe CA Pool overcharge me for the mistake they had to absorb to add more pavers to the part of my yard that they missed from not having me approved the plans.

The last part of the project for my yard is to install the grass. Bottom line i found someone else to install because CA Pool did not know when it would be done, and it was already 1/24/22 at this point, It was very challenging working with CA Pool. I would not recommend CA POOL from the Carson Office

I don't know why I have to give one star. They don't even deserve one star. I hired California pool to remodel my pool and add a jacuzzi and change the pavers. It's been over a year and not even half of the job is done. Although they have collected most of the money. Robert Monroe is not a reliable Contractor. Every week we get an email that they will start next week.

For over 10 months my Backyard is all sand and we have been walking on the sand all this time. They also put the gas line on the wall in my front yard when I asked them what is going on? He said can't you just cover it? He charged me extra to put the gas line in the ground where it was previously. if anyone considering this company save your money and your sanity. They don't deserve anything. BAD BAD COMPANY!

Very disappointed with the customer service from this company. I called multiple times and even left a message with contact info and never received a phone call back. I finally was able to get a hold of them when I called and someone picked up the phone. I thought maybe they were just busy because of Covid but no. They came out to survey our property (and waste our time) to not only leave us with no follow up or phone call but still to this day, no email with the quote they had told us we would be receiving just a few days later.

I even followed up with the owner of the company in Valencia! He told me "he was busy with a bunch of quotes" but we would be getting the quote emailed the following day and it's been about 2 weeks and NOTHING. I would have kept this to myself and obviously not used them EVER, but I had a family friend tell me they had the same issue! Pools are a huge investment and this company does not seem to care about taking care of their customers.

Was not a great experience! The job took significantly longer than originally promised. The drainage and demolition were done with no idea when the next step would be completed. Communication from the manager was extremely poor though the lady in the office did her best to communicate what she could. I told the manager of a severe leak which was never properly addressed or investigated, even after I repeatedly mentioned it.

The plaster and tile were completed while I still had a skimmer/plumbing problem which later cost me more money. I have crooked tiles then told it can be fixed but it would create a visible plaster patch; therefore I'd trade one eye sore for another. I came home twice to my water running from the hose they used and they did not clean up their own mess well.

The plaster looks ok but has more discoloration than I've seen in other pools but California Pools says "it's normal". I'm far from satisfied with this experience!

If i could give NO STARS i would. But, Yelp makes you give at least one star. Absolutely horrible service. I called back in early August 2019 for an estimate on a pool remodel. Robert Monroe came out took measurements and said would get back to me with a quote. 1. 8/17/19 - emailed and asked for a status update. 2. 8/19/19 - Robert responded and said he had no quote yet because the designer was on vacation. 3. 9/24/19 - i sent another email to check the now over a month status. 4. 9/25/19 - Robert responded that hes working on it. 5. 10/2019 - called Robert and his VM said he was vacation. 6. 10/2019 - i called the office to complain that i have been waiting on an estimate since AUGUST 2019 why does it take so damn long.

The girl who took my info said someone would call me back. Its now December and still nothing. Absolutely unprofessional. I would NEVER give a company like this my hard earned dollar and neither should you. I hope the owner reads this!

A couple of years ago I purchased a home with a California pool. Then This year brown rust stains started appearing on the side of the pool under the water line. Robert Monroe, the manager, determined that the problem was the installed rebar leaching under the plaster. He said he would help get it taken care of and I waited, and waited, and waited.

For months I have called repeatedly and been put off. Now it is clear they will not and do not stand behind their work. So the message here is clear, California Pools does not stand behind their work. If they do not install your pool correctly you will not know it until it becomes a problem and then it will be too late. Don't take the risk with these guys. Find a more reliable company.

I wish I could give Robert and his crew at California Pools 10 stars! We were in a very difficult position when the pool sub contractor our GC hired made huge mistakes right from the start including digging the hole 3 feet in the wrong direction right where our master bedroom was going to be. It was a nightmare ending with them walking off the job, we hired a second company that came in and did about 50% of what needed to be done to finish then disappeared with a big chunk of our money.

I reached out to several companies to complete the pool, Robert at California Pools was understanding and willing to work with us from the start. The pool is very unique and surrounded by house so it presented a challenge to finish but once we decided and signed on he started work immediately and finished our pool. We moved in last week and are still over the moon that we have our dream home and the pool to match. I would absolutely recommend California Pools-Los Angeles for any pool needs you have.

I wanted to share my experience with California Pools. Spencer came to me via a referral and we clicked immediately. Unlike the other bidders, He really understood what I wanted and what was practical in our small yard. The fact that California Pools built my parents pool 30 years earlier added to my comfort that they build quality pools. The overall project took a bit longer then we initially thought.

We were not time constrained since it was fall so it was not a problem for pool usage. Only issue was the time that the backyard was under construction. At times there was a little delay in getting back to me but no more so then other contractors I've worked with in the past. That said, when a possible issue came up with the water district, they were on it immediately.

They took charge and the matter was quickly resolved. Everyone of their sub's was clean, efficient, and professional. Lastly, the final product. We could not have been happier with the final result. The pool looks great and we have been thoroughly enjoying it ever since. Thank you Spencer, you helped turn our little back yard into our little oasis.

There is only one company that would build my pool. California pools south bay. I am not bragging, I am telling you like it is. Unless you have money to wast, California pools will take care of, designing and building your dream backyard.

I am so very surprised at the negative comments on this page. I hired California Pools to build a pool for me at a home in Bonita Canyon and they did a fantastic job for me. It was the selling point of the house because they did exactly what I wanted and if I did not like it Kimo Horn was right there to let me know they would change it to my liking and they did.

Since then I have called Mr Horn several times to get referrals for other jobs and he has always been responsive and helpful even though it had nothing to do with the pool. I am about to build another pool and will only hire them from past experience. I also have another project for them to make another pool at a property we own made shallower as it is 12 feet all the way and I know they will do a terrific job. Kimo Horn rocks as far as I am concerned! Thank you California pools for always being there for your clients.

Called two weeks ago and spoke with a Robert Monroe said he would be contacting me back to give me a quote and he never did. This company sounds horrible, this guy sounded like he was at home answering his personal phone not professional at all. I gave up waiting on a quote so I decided to go with another company and they gave me a quote right away. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you want to waste your time waiting on a call back.

CA pools did an awesome job! Project was done around the time they expected, looks great, works great, and the people are great! Robert, Spencer, and Jesus are all awesome to work with. I would definitely recommend Cali pools to anyone asking. The 3D renderings they do are really cool too, the finished product looks basically identical. Sharing a picture but just be aware, the landscaping is not complete yet.

Before I bought my new house, I called California Pools to come and tell me if I could put in a pool. I called 2 other companies as well. Vanz, from California Pools was the one that showed up, on time, and prepared. We spent hours looking at the property and discussing the possibilities. He got excited with us and started showing me the possibilities.

He drew up some plans and we agreed on a schedule and budget. Throughout the process Vanz was there. Our project supervisor, Dan, was 100% available when I had questions. It would have come in on budget if I hadn't decided I needed a whole bunch of stuff I hadn't thought of. And those things are great. They came in on schedule, despite a lot of weather issues and changes I thought of too late.

My pool is so friggin beautiful I can't even begin to describe it. Every step of the process was handled by amazing professionals. Dan, the supervisor, was there at every crucial moment. My yard looked like a war zone for a few months, but they put it back to normal and now I have a pool that Sinatra would envy. California Pools didn't give me the cheapest quote, but they delivered the best pool with the least drama.

They came in on schedule! Can I say that again? They came in on schedule! This outfit isn't offering a bargain or a cheap pool. They are offering a quality product with great service. Ask them to come see my pool and I'll show you. I have a free form pool with pebble, spa, salt water and a beach entry.

Kimo, Spencer and Robert were awesome to work with - they follow through with everything they promised. "3 years later" - We are still loving our pool. We get great complements every time we have barbeques with family and friends. As we walked through the process with Permits, Excavation, Equipment, Plumbing, Gunite, Masonry steps 1 & 2 and last but not least Decking and Plaster. Anytime we had questions Robert was always available for our family. You guys are the best in the pool business!

The overall experience with California Pools was dismal to say the least. The whole project took 9 months when it was supposed to be done in 16 weeks. We had a hole in our backyard for three months, the communication with the site manager was unconsionable. I had to call and speak to supervisors each time in order to get things done, and what they promised still has not been done.

This company is obviously having management and communiction problems and all they want is your money. BTW you have to pay up front, before the work has even been done! The positive is it looks great, and the designer (Spencer) was wonderful, the masonry was well done, but would we ever recommend them? Absolutely not. Now we're having issues with the equipment. Do you think we will call them? No.

We had our pool built by California Pools in 2006. It is a custom "rock" pool and we could not have been happier with the process and finished product. We have dealt with many contractors over the years and jokingly have our own Wall Of Fame and Hall of Shame to cover a myriad of home improvement projects. Robert Monroe, now General Manager of California Pools, sits prominently at the top of our Hall Of Fame.

Our experience with Robert and California Pools was incredible. It was if we had a family member looking over the job for us. Robert is a class act. By the time the pool was finished, I knew I had a friend in the business. If you're thinking about having a pool built, call Robert Monroe and ask him for my phone number. He'll know who you mean. He doesn't forget his friends.

Still having a very bad experience. I'm on my 4th manager now there or supervisor and still nothing getting accomplished. It's constant excuses and putting blame on other things. I'm so disappointed and sad because I truly thought when hiring them I was making the best decision.

This company has a huge management and communication issue and should not be hired until they resolve it. I recently had a Pool and Spa built and can attest other recent reviews of the poor quality of their management, communication and follow up, the project was a constant hassle, I sent multiple E mails and texts asking for information, dates for construction work, times people should show up and the list continues.

I send messages to both the manager of the LA office and the company as a whole and have received absolutely nothing in response, not one word. I 100% blame the company management for the under resourcing of the staff, they have too many projects going on at the same time and were juggling sub contractors and work. The design process initially was perfectly fine and the construction work started OK until they lost some key staff that appear not to have been replaced.

I feel sorry to have to write this review, we have a finished pool and spa and for all of the pain we went through it looks great, we currently have a broken heater which is not good after four months installation but I know things like this happen, my writing this is a culmination of all of the frustrations that manifested throughout the project and beyond.

Awesome, Fantastic, Impressive, Outstanding! Kimo, the GM did a great job helping us lay out our pool /spa design in a very awkward shaped back yard. Then came Adam, he was our project coordinator, Adam was at the house over-seeing daily operations, and I do mean daily! They all were great and helpful assisting us with our many questions and changes.

This company and it's employees were top notch, very knowledgeable in every aspect from the permits to choosing our tiles. etc. The whole process went smoothly and everyday we saw huge progress. We couldn't be happier with our beautiful pool/spa and the staff over at California Pools in Torrance, Ca. If we could give this company more then 5 stars we absolutely would!

After deciding that we wanted to build a pool in our Lakewood home, we sought out different pool companies. After meeting with Spencer, we chose California Pools. We were informed every step of the way. Our pool is absolutely amazing and we have enjoyed having friends and family over on a regular basis. We have already referred this company to our friends.
