California Aqua Pros We researched and studied the differences between brands of pond product. It was an easy decision to follow the Aquascape approach of pond building. We began loving the creative aspect of ponds. Just a few years later we received a notice from Aquascape that we were the #14 Contractor in the nation (ranked by purchase volume). We attend Pondemonium 2006 to be recognized and for more intense training.

Of course the economic down-turn affected us greatly in 2008-2010. California Aqua Pros stayed true to its course of quality workmanship, excellent customer service and value.
Services
You will never win this fight unless you decide to use aggressive chemicals such as chlorine, bromine, copper, silver, or ozone to kill algae or bacteria. Unfortunately, the use of these chemicals, at even extremely low concentrations, will also kill fish and plants. We use a system designed by Aquascape, Inc. which integrates a biological filter called a BioFalls (used as the waterfall), a 45 mil EPDM liner which retains the water, and a skimmer which helps remove floating debris and also houses the pump.
Since the water level never pools above the level of the rock and cobblestone, it gives the appearance of a pondless or disappearing waterfall. Are you interested in installing a water feature in your yard, but concerned about the safety and liabilities of having a pond? Or are you just interested in the sights and sounds of a waterfall or stream with extremely low maintenance?
Adding a Fountainscape will immensely increase the appeal of any space, either adding it to a pond, making it the center piece of your outdoor space or greeting you or your visitors at your front entrance. Our Fountainscapes will add sights and sounds for endless hours of enjoyment while butterflies and birds perch and dip in the soft waters.
To help with your maintenance needs, California Aqua Pros offers both Weekly and Monthly Maintenance options for your Water Feature. Our Maintenance Program is designed to provide the help you need to keep your Feature in top shape while keeping your budget in mind. Whether you need a little reassurance that everything is looking good and working properly or just want to come home to a beautifully maintained pond, we've got what you need.

We had our pool redone by California Aqua Pros and it was completed at the end of April 2021. We had so many issues. We originally hired Cal Aqua Pros because we didn't want a bunch of subcontractors, we wanted to hire someone that had their own employees, Greg implied he did. We also clarified with Greg that he would be present to oversee the work, he assured us he would but when it came down to it, Greg only showed up 4 times total over a 6-8 week period and twice only to pick up his progress payment. Greg subcontracted with Adams pool and they came out to strip our old plaster off.

They broke our sprinklers in our back yard, poured the white plaster water on our beautifully landscaped front yard, ruined our brand new hose in our backyard. They crushed much of our landscaping killing many plants. This was the start of our project with California Aqua Pros. We then picked out the color of the coping for around the pool and it was made the incorrect color by their subcontractor, Able.

After calling Greg, he told me to contact the coping guy and work it out. I explained that I didn't hire him. That I hired you to handle these issues. The coping guy wouldn't return our calls, Greg and his office were no help. The coping guy wouldn't return my calls for weeks. Greg did nothing to help in getting this resolved. It ended up delaying our pool by almost a month. Greg's office sent out another subcontractor to install the new pump and plumbing work.

I went outside to check on him doing the work and he was spray painting my patio with black paint, didn't mask anything off and to this day we have black spray paint on our patio by our gate. Again Greg was not present to oversee the work. We never ended up getting the color of coping we wanted but moved forward in an effort to get our pool completed.

Now we were waiting for the decorator tile to come in and it finally arrived. It was the wrong color. I immediately called Greg's office and spoke with his staff. I was told to wait or call the tile store myself. I ended up just making the call to the tile company in Livermore only to find out the new tile was made in a different color and we couldn't get the requested tiles.

We waited about one week to finally get word the tile was not available in the color we ordered and what we based our entire design upon. Another big let down with California Aqua Pros. We just went ahead and agreed to keep the job going. Then finally after the tile was done Greg sent over two ladies to do the mastic around the pool. These ladies dumped over 5 pounds of sand into our newly completed pebble tech pool.

The next day our brand new pool vacuum was broken and another call into California Aqua Pros and my husband was told to bring in the warranty service center. it was brand new and we insisted Greg and California Aqua pros replace it. Greg came out and took it apart, it was completely filled with sand. Luckily for us, They replaced it as they should as it was their subcontractor that broke it.

All the issues we had and I had to make the calls and handle the problems. Our pool was completed and we did the start up chemical procedure. Hired a licensed pool company and followed the recommended procedure (my husband found the info on the vendor website as Cal Aqua Pros didn't provide to us). After about two months we noticed the pebble tech was very blotchy and opaque looking and we noticed it didn't look right and was getting worse.

Upon calling Greg he did nothing. Didn't even come out to see. I was finally fed up went to Adams Pool and started a warranty claim as Greg had subbed out the finish to them. Adam's sent a representative out to take a look and again Greg could not be bothered to even show up for the meeting! Adams agreed to come and try to fix the finish but made us agree to wait until their slow season, which we did.

I honestly was going to let this all go, as Adams replaced our hose, reimbursed us for the broken plants and came out and fixed our yard, fixed the sprinklers they broke, etc. Adams did try to make it right. The FINAL STRAW BROKE and I decided to finally give California Aqua Pros the review they deserved was when the our new plumbing/ pump system 5 weeks out of warranty started leaking and upon calling them, they couldn't be bothered to come out.

We were told to take a picture and send it to Greg's email. My husband explained it was wasting a bunch of water and discoloring our deck. Greg said he would get back to us. The next day we received an email saying he was too busy to help us and maybe could send someone out in the next several weeks. That was all Greg was willing to do. and AGAIN ONLY 5 WEEKS OUT OF WARRANTY!

This is the quality work you will get if you hire Greg and California Aqua Pros. Dealing with this company is a serious lesson in frustration. I would steer clear unless this is the experience you are looking for when refinishing your pool!

California Aqua Pros is a local, multi-generation, family-run business. They resurfaced our pool, installed all new coping, tile, and pool equipment, did all of the plumbing, and replaced the surrounding cement patio. We never felt like we were "just one more client on their full list" to check off! The end result is beautiful! They provide quality service, and their customer service is evidenced by their quick response whenever we had a question.

They are honest and transparent in all of their quotes and communication. What they said they would do, they did! They aim to please, and they do! Greg, Jared, and Marlo, thank you!

My experience with Cal Aqua Pros has been no less than fantastic! I received a prompt bid for a pondless waterfall feature in my backyard. The crew came in and within a couple of days, a boring retaining wall turned into an amazing pondless waterfall that was made to look like nature created it. It was so peaceful and awe inspiring that I hired Cal Aqua Pros to create another masterpiece of similar grandeur in my backyard. Considering the end result, the projects were worth EVERY penny.

I even tipped the crew on their second round because I was so happy with their work. This is a company that is family owned and operated and is quite busy because they are second to none! I invite you to transform your living space into a spa/resort with Cal Aqua Pros!

Buyer beware: Greg (owner) came to my house to discuss a new pool install. He Gave us a stack of pool equipment and control vendor handouts and said he is to busy but give him $1600 and he will put us on a list with possible install of 1+ year away. So I was crazy enough to give him the money. After a month I couldn't reach Greg so I asked his office account for a refund.

She said no problem and would have a check out in a few days. I received the refund less $$250 with a note that said deduction for pond consultation. Did not want a pond and no consultation received except handful of equipment brochures. Called the office and said they charge everyone a trip charge just for showing up. Expensive lesson learned about the business ethics of a company. Imagine had I spent $150,000 to learn this lesson.

California Aqua Pros built my pond last 2009. I called Greg, the owner, again to have it rebuilt and according to how I want it to look. It turned out so beautiful again as usual with the lights on. My koi are happy as well as all of us with the results. His crew are so professional, highly skilled. Brian the lead crew said that since my old small bridge might need to be changed in the near future I can just call their office so that when I have a small new bridge ready they can help me put the bridge. That's a good suggestion.

I don't want to mess up whatever is underneath that bridge. So helpful. I can trust California Aqua Pros. If u want a natural looking pond this is the company. Maria and Romeo P

Every aspect of this experience was great! The owner, Greg, gave us great advice in so far as what type of feature would look good in the spot we had. The bid was reasonable, and the contract was detailed and professional, and spelled out every step of the process. I had other contractors give us competitive bids and none of them lived up to California Aqua Pros.

They provided constant communication throughout. The promptness and politeness of all of the workers, as well as the professionalism of the owners of the company and the quality of work was top notch My experience has not been great with other contractors. Mainly due to not being able to rely on them and their lack of communication or time management.

This was a wonderful exception!. Everything went like clockwork. And the guys were professional and respectful. Always on time every day, cleaned up after themselves every day, had creative artistry to build our water feature, and we're just delightful. They really went the extra mile! I highly recommend them for any kind of pond or water feature. They are the best!

California Aqua Pros did a beautiful job on our Pebble Tec Pool. Greg was informative and gave me advise on all aspects. I went with the natural tumbled flagstone and love it. Listen to the Pros! Also went on the lighter side with the Cool Blue Pebble Tec and really happy with that choice. CAP was professional with the contract being exactly what's ordered and sticking to the price and schedule. His employees long-term loyalists and true artists too. 1,000 stars!

Greg and his outstanding crew just completed a unique, practical and lovely pondless waterfall feature for our backyard. We have had a beautifully landscaped fish pond & waterfall for 20 years and it was time to not only say goodbye to the weekly maintenance routine, but the pond itself had seen better days. When we first heard of the pondless waterfall, it was hard to imagine one could have such beauty and serenity without the hassles. Yes, the fish have been moved on to another pond and that's the downside, but they're happy and so are we.

If you're contemplating any type of water feature for your property, you couldn't ask for a more professional and knowledgeable company. They strive to please you and it shows.

I had a weird project, build a turtle pond in a sun room. CA Aqua Pros said "We can do that!" and they did. My turtles are living the good life in a beautiful crystal clear pond with a waterfall protected from racoons. But here's the info you came for. They showed up when they said they would, kept me informed through the process, and were amazingly professional.

I can't say enough about the attention to detail and artistry evident in taking a 7' x 20' glass box and making it look like a natural environment. It's such a nice thing to look at, so relaxing and my turts love it. If I ever need another pond or if I need pond maintenance, I know who I will call.

Cal Aqua Pros did a great job this morning cleaning all the debris that had collected over 5 years of continuous use of our pondless waterfall. They worked hard for 2 hours cleaning and pressure washing all the rocks. The installed a new pump, too. They replaced all the rocks very artfully and didn't break even one plant. I couldn't be more pleased. They're nice guys to deal with, too.

Great people to work with. We set up a meeting with Greg and Jorge. First thing he suggested was getting my name put on their pond maintenance schedule which we did. The crew showed up after I pumping out most of the water. Boy were we surprised at the amount of muck. They worked hard for 9 days removing as much muck as they could. Let me make note that our pond is 250,000 gallons.

While cleanup was going on, Greg and Jorge walked me around the pond making suggestions of what needed to be done to make the pond easier to maintain. Unfortunately I had a budget for the project and their first proposal was over budget. I gave Greg the max amount I had for the project. He came back a day later with another proposal. It was installing an intake bay, 3 new energy efficient pumps each feeding a waterfall and adding aeration.

The intake bay is proving to be a good addition for skimming floating debris. When it was all said and done we came in at budget. Greg and Jorge know their stuff. If you are looking to install a water feature or are in need of cleaning and or updating a water feature give Greg at California Aqua Pros a call. I'm glad I did. Thanks Greg, Jorge, Bryan and his crew for a job well done.

"The guys did an amazing job on my pond last week. It looks brand new. They installed the new pump and everything is up and running. I can not thank you and your crew enough. The pond was long overdue for some professional care and that is exactly what you provided. Even the toads and fish that I was worried about are doing just fine. :- Thank you very much for the excellent work and professional expertise."

Talented, Responsive. CAP installed a pondless fountain in our backyard, and it has been the centerpiece of guests' comments. In a small-ish space, CAP created a fountain with a strong flow over large and small stones. The water sparkled, and created an authentic creek sound. It was a pleasant background, and also masked the neighbors from us and us from the neighbors. This stuff is hard to do right, but they did it, and they were worked successfully to include our program requirements.

The "email chain" you speak of consisted of answering what kind of pond we had in order for us to find the help we needed to fix your poor advice. Please don't make it sound like it was problem solving by any means. They were one sentence emails. You offered zero help. Zero on what we could do. Zero. No direction. No remedy. Nothing.

I wanted to put a 40 foot pondless water feature/river on our large downward sloping side yard. My wife was reluctant but went along. Two amazing things about this company - four days from start to finish with huge boulders as well as a mix of other rocks - they work so hard. Second, they are artists. The finished product is beautiful and natural. A big add to our home value -- and my wife is over the moon about it now!. Kudos to Greg and the whole team.

Vendors: these are good people. Do business with them. I haven't had the pleasure of ordering a pool from Marlo and her team (though I certainly would if I were less than 1,000 miles away), though I can say with confidence that these folks are highly reasonable and trustworthy when conducting business. To explain: Our company produces advertising on high-end golf courses.

One of our reps was in contact with CAP, and the company was set to advertise on a few of our Bay Area courses. Due to a few careless errors on our end, our company bungled the transaction and CAP - quite reasonably - decided to not move forward. This was an action any reasonable businessperson - myself included - would have made given the blunder we created.

Roughly a month later, I called Marlo to inquire about what happened and what we could have done better to serve them. Now, here's the kicker: I'm the guy at our company who calls former - or formerly potential - clients to gather feedback on why they elected to not continue doing business with us. As you can imagine, the responses are not always positive (read: usually hostile and expletive). Marlo, on the other hand, took time out of her busy schedule to carefully detail her concerns in a rational, constructive manner that uultimately will help us improve how we communicate printing deadlines to clients. Additionally - being the most important aspect - she actively listened to what I wanted to communicate about our error, how we're planning on rectifying those issues, and lastly, what I could do to make things right and hopefully earn their business.

Take note: this is how you run a business. A cool-headed, rational, and constructive approach to supplier issues is invaluable to the business process and the flow of services. Not only did they take the time to hear us out, they helped us improve how we do business as an organization. Marlo and the CAP team are true professionals, and at the end of the day, good people.

This is a beautifully run company. I cannot say enough about Greg and his crew. Friendly, on time and they do exceptional work. The term "you get what you pay for" is very true. I had another company put my water feature in and it fell apart after a year. Greg and CO came in two years ago and rebuilt it. Then every year they send out a email for people to sign up for maintenance.

So a few weeks ago they returned and cleaned it top to bottom and even recommended adding a few more lights. It is beautiful. Looks like it was put there by nature. Greg is very knowledgeable and it shows in his work. I recommend this company to anyone who is looking for natural beauty in their yards.

Awesome work guys! We've had a multi tiered Koi pond in our yard since we moved in over ten years ago & finally needed some maintenance to address a leak in the system. Brian and his team were able to very quickly ascertain the cause of our problem, provide an inexpensive solution as well as a long term plan for future service and addressing some upcoming problems. True professionals that like working with water, mud, dirt and fish. DAMN, I knew I should have gone into this line of work! Nice work guys!

Really? You hung up on me. Tell the truth I called you three times. You did not return the first two calls, that should have been a red flag for me. But I gave you the benefit of the doubt. My mistake. If I had hired you and you did the work, I would not have complained about the cost because I would have had a bid in front of me for your work before I hired you.

You are rude, you hung up on me. You are apparently overworked, because you can't return calls You are apparently a bit self centered because you assume that I would complain about a price that you never gave me. I called other pool builders and repair places, that were busy as well and were high priced. But they took the time to call me back and give me bids. It was just your ego and the way you treated me that drove me to write the review.

This review will likely be routed to the "reviews not recommended" section of Yelp as it does not offer an opinion of the quality of California Aqua Pros' work or customer service. This is unimportant as I merely wanted to express our disappointment at not being able to work with the company. My husband and I had met with Greg approximately 3 wks ago to discuss a renovation of our pool. We've just taken out a loan to remodel the entire house and the pool was #1 on our list since summer was fast approaching.

We had an excellent meeting, communicated what we wanted out of the renovation, Greg gave us his thoughts on what would be best, etc. When he left he said he would be in touch with an estimate for what our ideal pool would cost. Meanwhile I was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer and was scheduled for a mastectomy & lymph node surgery at John Muir.

I was really hoping that by the time I was discharged (yesterday), we would have the pool construction underway so I could it enjoy it for my recuperation after my MD and physical/occupational therapists clear me for activity. Greg never called us. We could not figure out why he would not follow up on an estimate for our pool. We went over and over in our minds what the reason could be for his "dismissal" of our business.

And then we figured that it likely rested on what we wanted for our pool which was a true beach entry or zero entry pool where the shallow end would rise to meet the ground much like the shore of a beach & there would be no steps. This is my wish as some of my best memories have been in tropical climates in Mexico among white sand beaches and palm trees (both of which we will ultimately install in the yard).

In hindsight I realize that he was not very comfortable with this project; perhaps he had never done this before. He attempted to convince us that one lone stair to enter/exit the pool would offer us equal benefits aesthetically. But since I was tied to the Mexican beach idea I said I really would prefer a true zero entry pool. We are sad that things didn't work out with us and California Aqua Pros as we felt impressed that Greg was 3rd generation pool people and he was so easy to talk to, so down-to-earth.

He was our first choice as we had not wanted to use a large corporation such as Adams, as it might not offer as personal of an approach. I am sure that if you do contract with his company, your pool will turn out magnificent. The photos of work he has done were very impressive and we really did like him.

Still the BEST natural water feature designer and contractor in Northern California. Greg is an awesome designer of naturalistic water features & ponds. Top dollar for a top product - remember you get what you pay for! The crews are polite and respectful of the property. Garbage is collected daily and the site is left clean at the end of each day.

The projects are top notch and they receive many compliments! They are responsive to issues following the completion of the project. We are repeat customers of 20 years and have NEVER had an issue!
